Going through two primary and a secondary school where not a single person pronounced my name correctly.
My name is a part of me; by mispronouncing you are denying me the right to be me.

At a seaside resort with my family and someone shouting at me and worse still at my kids (usually from within a group); saying things like "Up the EDL/BNP", "Bin Laden", "terrorist" and other things I cannot tweet.

Being tarnished by the crimes of others as if I am the perpetrator of actions I find abhorrent committed by people I have nothing in common with other than the same religion. These actions are against the teachings of my religion.

Being required to disassociate with and publicly condemn acts of terrorism as if every Muslim is responsible for the actions of a very small minority.

Crossing a road at a zebra crossing; the driver sees me, shouts "a good Muslim is a dead Muslim" and accelerates to ensure I have to jump out of the way shouting

Any negative done by someone I don't even know is done by "your people". People from my community do wrong; how am I personally responsible and why am I tarnished by the actions of someone I don't even know?
