Without knowing Kellie-Jay Keen, I would not have had the confidence to lead a delegation of parents and journalists into the Tavistock in September 2019. This was but one of many straws applied to the back of the GIDS camel. But it was an important one.
Thank you @StandingforXX
Somewhat incomplete minutes, but...
We told them as much in December...

The dodging of the question on #detransition
'mutual respect' refers to their cancelling our planned meeting because they did not like @OurDutyGrp media coverage.
I am more than happy to credit Posie Parker for her part in making this important holding to account happen. It did have an impact. It took at least a couple of blocks out of the GIDS Jenga tower.
Nobody can say that Kellie-Jay 'single-handedly' closed the Tavistock GIDS - but then, as I hope to have demonstrated above, nobody can say with confidence that she didn't. She was definitely an ingredient in the closure cake.
We are led to believe that the final Cass Review is imminent. I have previously stated I think it will be a sop, and was just 'the political long grass', four years of dodging the issue. When it is published, what should we look out for? Here's your checklist...🧵
1. Will it perpetuate the lie that some people can actually *be* transgender? This is used as an excuse for the availability of medical interventions despite there being no evidence of clinical justification or net benefit.
2. Will it continue to rely on gender incongruence (aka gender dysphoria) as if it were a valid diagnosis? We know these "diagnoses" are in fact collections of feelings, and we've known for years they are frequently faked.independent.ie/irish-news/pat…
I saw my daughter on Saturday.
What our sick society has done to her is unforgiveable.
Yet, if I were to express my rage at this in any useful way, it is I who would be painted as the villain.
Our uncivilised society has failed, it has failed thousands of children and parents.
If a father sees his child being abused, he can act in the heat of the moment to stop it.
However, if that abuse happens in slow motion, he is deemed to have time to control his actions. Consequently, he can do absolutely nothing to stop the abuse. Absolutely nothing.
We need a Statutory Public Inquiry into how the state managed to maim and sterilise thousands of quirky and gay children.
It must look into how to give families immediate recourse when they see their children being abused.
I've been working with families of kids who think they are transgender for over 4 years.
What have I learned?

The rise of social media is culpable.
First Tumblr, then Instagram, then TikTok are all riddled with people pushing the idea that one can 'identify' out of one's reality. Hannah Berrelli and Shay Woulahan explain this well for @ALLIANCELGB (2/n)
Computer gaming is culpable:
Roblox, Fortnite and games your kids are playing have private chat spaces and communities where other kids promote the idea that a kid can be 'trans' (spoiler: it's only a social identity, not innate). Trans groomers exist - your kid is an 'egg'. (3)
Recently, I have been working with some intelligent women who knew that to get repeal of the Gender Recognition Act the timing and the wording of such a campaign was key. 🧵
At the heart of this initiative was a desire to take a niche cause and make it a universal one with mass appeal. A clever approach was needed and it would take time and care to construct it. Time, it turns out, that we did not have.
We had hoped to make progress while attention was diverted to the laudable petition from @SexMattersOrg to get a quick fix to better define the sexes (sign it if you have not done so, yet). petition.parliament.uk/petitions/6232…
"Comments for this article have been turned off."
So we shall just have to comment here (thread). thetimes.co.uk/article/i-tran…
This article by @meganagnew need not have been written. Describing, as it does, how a police officer's career slowed down, allegedly because of a transition to imitating the opposite sex.
Careers slow down for many. Developing a narcissistic personality disorder would do it.
Or if the story had to be told, then maybe the 'angle' needed to be different. Perhaps something along the lines of "Police colleagues angry at being forced to humour a delusion."
Shouldn't the Police be naturally averse to having a liar in their midst?
It seems that I am going to have to write an article about the dangers of putting too much store in The Cass Review and the risks of it not delivering an objective report.
Together with an outline of what factors are present that make those risks greater than they should be.
I might use this thread as both a pitch and an aide memoire.
Here is one risk factor.
