quibble all you want with its parameters, but it's 100% objective, transparent, and doesn't rely on bullshit "style points" or "eye tests." And each team knows exactly how many marbles are at stake before they play.
Example: Tennessee now has 535 marbles (#3), Georgia has 413 (#7). Tennessee plays at UGA Saturday.
If UTK wins, marble count will be UTK 638 UGA 310
If UGA wins, marble count will be UTK 428, UGA 520
If UTK wins, marble count will be UTK 638 UGA 310
If UGA wins, marble count will be UTK 428, UGA 520
In fact, Tennessee is guaranteed to be Marble Game #1 next week if they win, because neither of the teams in front of them (TCU and Clemson) can achieve 638 marbles even if they win. Ditto for any team ranked below them.
