Something I don’t think I’m seeing a lot of people elaborate on is Millie & John in ep4. More specifically… Millie clearly loves & has done her best by John, but part of that involved instilling lessons of toxic masculinity into him in his father’s absence.

It’s made clear that came from Millie. The parents & children themes & toxic masculinity are not at ALL restricted by gender.
John carries the trauma of losing his father, but also being raised by the ways Millie hardened herself to be mother AND father for him.
