Georgia Governor #BrianKemp does not want you to know that it was his family that first brought enslaved Africans to Georgia
The original settlers in #Georgia had outlawed slavery until James Habersham — #BrianKemp’s ancestor — won a bloody battle to bring humans in chains to his plantations. gregpalast.com/governor-kemps…
Habersham’s reward for bringing the slave system to Georgia? He was appointed acting Governor under King George II. So #BrianKemp can claim a governing dynasty going back nearly three centuries. gregpalast.com/governor-kemps…
Let’s be clear: #BrianKemp did not bring enslaved humans to Georgia. Nor is he responsible for the horrors perpetrated by his long-dead ancestors.
But Kemp, who fanatically avoids association with his dark origins, has gone so far as to ensconce historical amnesia into law.
This April, #BrianKemp signed #HB1178, the so-called “Parents Bill of Rights” and a companion bill that makes it darn difficult for any schoolteacher in the Peach State to teach uncensored history and keep their job. gregpalast.com/governor-kemps…

"And then...to have the country understand the history of #BrianKemp and his family, being the family who brought slavery to the state of #Georgia… it was also something that was masterfully done." - @CkHoffler on Vigilante gregpalast.com/ck-hoffler-we-…

"Your vote does matter... We could change some of these laws that are being perpetrated against us if we were to get out and vote. That's why there's such a hard-hitting effort to suppress our vote in any manner that they can.” — Gamaliel Turner gregpalast.com/georgia-voter-…
Retired Major Gamaliel Turner currently works as America’s expert on warfare of the future. He learned that his right to vote in Georgia had been challenged by the chairman of his home county’s Republican Party while working for the US Navy in California. ajc.com/politics/thous…
You’ve voted at the same polling place for years, did you know a provision in the #Georgia Election Integrity Act (#SB202) allows your voter status to be challenged without merit? gregpalast.com/georgia-has-a-…
In recent years, tens of thousands of Georgia voters vanished from voter rolls. In addition to “purges” by government agencies, new digital voter vigilantes are submitting similar, unsubstantiated requests to county election offices. gregpalast.com/doj-suit-misse…
A closer look at these efforts suggests that many recent #Georgia voter challenge efforts are targeted – seeking to remove young, Black, Asian American and/or voters from historically disenfranchised groups. gregpalast.com/uncovered-ille…
Watch this 103-sec clip from our new film Vigilante: Georgia’s Vote Suppression Hitman, and meet one of Gov. Kemp’s 88 voter challengers. This one likes to dress up like vigilante Doc Holliday – with a loaded six-gun.
No joke, “Doc”—Chairman of the Muscogee County, Georgia, Republican Party—challenged 4,000 voters incl. the US military’s expert on Warfare of the Future. Like most of the quarter million Georgians challenged by these GOP operatives, he's African-American. gregpalast.com/a-103-seconds-…

ERIC was supposed to expand voter registration. But a number of GOP Secretaries of State have taken it over and inverted it, basically creating a Crosscheck replacement.
The idea of ERIC was that if you moved, they would say, hey, would you like to register in your new state? That’s good. But Instead of helping voters register, the GOP are using the ERIC lists, which are often wrong, to remove voters by the millions. gregpalast.com/election-crime…
I did an investigation for @BlackVotersMtr in Wisconsin, where Biden’s margin was only 20,000 votes. They were going to remove 130,000 voters from the rolls. We found just short of 40,000 people on the ERIC-generated had never moved—a 25.8% error rate.
In November, you not only have the rematch between Stacey Abrams & Brian kemp for Governor, but Sen. Rev. Warnock's running for reelection against Herschel Walker, the big football hero. We have a 50/50 Senate, so there’s a lot at stake. via @FacepalmUSA gregpalast.com/brian-kemp-wil…
If the public says no more Warnock, or we don’t want Stacey, I have no problem with that. I’m kind of a fan of democracy, of counting the votes. The problem in Georgia is that they are at the cutting edge of what we politely call “vote suppression”. gregpalast.com/its-jim-crow-2…
