I almost never title my paintings, but 30 seconds ago I sort of impulsively decided to name them all before the art crawl in NE MPLS this weekend…

Wanna help?

If I post a pic of a painting, will you tell me what it’s called?

If I get a few likes/yesses, I’ll get started. 🙏
I mean, yeah, I could call it “urinal plumbing,” but what else you got?
This one is duct taped into the frame, but that’s not relevant information.
This is a background that I decided didn’t need a foreground
This one’s 5 feet tall.
This was a building outside my hotel window in Miami. (There wasn’t actually a chair in the sky.)
This one sorta names itself, but I’m including it anyway just for fun
Oh, the art crawl… Hundreds of studios around NE #minneapolis are open this weekend. I’m in @SolarArtsBuild 🤘
It feels like the circus just arrived but maybe it’s just Fall
A self portrait from when I had shorter hair
Here’s a pic of an orange circle. I’ve got a couple of those.

All you bible readers out there know that the Song of Solomon goes kinda hard, but have you ever read it in Middle English? (1/…)
Guess what the word for breasts was in the 1300s when John Wycliffe was translating that bit of biblical erotica into our burgeoning tongue.
Where an English bible now uses the word “breasts,” Mr Wycliffe said… ✨tetis✨.

Some christians just…love god. Their religion is a kind of celebration. A fandom.

Church for them is like getting to go to ChristCon every week.

I respect that.

But then…
…there are Christians who *argue*.

Evangelists, apologists, missionaries, etc — all the folks who have a million reasons you should believe their god is ultimate and absolute.
We don’t need to disrespect the fundamentalists, but we *can* fully ignore them for a very simple reason — and it’s not because they’re wrong — It’s because…

The etymology of “soccer” is very silly.
It’s British schoolkid slang from the late 1800s that just stuck.
Not surprisingly, versions of the sport have existed for thousands of years, but in the mid-19th century some British schools standardized the rules and created The Football Association.

There are rules in English — grammar rules — and you better follow them if you want to be understood and accepted.
But don’t get stressed, because here’s the thing: You already know and follow them.

These aren’t rules you *should* follow. They’re rules you *do* follow. Instinctively (if you’re a native speaker).
It’s kinda confusing that they’re called grammar “rules,” because that makes it sound like demands from your parents or something. Like, “Be home by midnight” or “Cruise control doesn’t mean you can switch drivers on the highway.”

Here's a nature fact that seems really important for everyone to know…

You can get poison ivy in your lungs. 😳
I read a biography of Townes Van Zandt awhile ago, and there was a one- or two-sentence anecdote that enlightened me to this unfortunate possibility.
Apparently, when he was a young teenager he was at his uncle's ranch and they were burning away some brush. He breathed in some of the smoke…

👋 I’m looking for a freelance video editor/producer for a new youtube show. More info 👇
Most of my internet yammering has been on tiktok, instagram, and youtube shorts, so I’ve had no need for an editor… Actually, that’s debatable. I might have *needed* one, but I’ve never *used* one. Anyway…
Now, though, I’m launching a youtube show that will rely very heavily on a producer who can source stock and fair-use footage and then cut it together with my footage and narration in a fun and engaging way. And maybe even add ✨animation✨. (Oooooh, aaaaaah. 🤩)
