In a weird twist of fate, the #LBRY news this week is ABSOLUTELY STACKED. Like – Christina Hendricks stacked. 1/6

Hey there, @elonmusk . I know I'm just another random idjit drifting past your Tesla window on the side of the information superhighway, but can I interest you in some ideas you may not have been exposed to about social media systems? 1/20
First, a little about me. I've been on the Internet since before there was a web. I've run my own USENET server. In fact, I think USENET would be a wonderful model to build off of to construct a federated social media architecture. But that's not what I want to talk about. 2/20
I've been involved in criticism of an analysis about blockchain-based social media systems for several years now, to the point where I am currently the token crypto skeptic on a weekly podcast devoted to @LBRYcom . 3/20
Does it strike anyone else as strange that this is the strategy that we see bandied about from the Democrats? Going out of their way to invest in promoting opposition figures they think are easy targets.
We will leave aside, just for the moment, the question of whether or not this is a real thing that is happening. The fact that I can bring it up, multiple pundits have said it, and it's completely believable really goes to the heart of the problem. 2/52
It's so stupid we all absolutely believe that they would do it.
And it absolutely, positively, would have exactly the results and impact you would expect if you had ever read a single book that wasn't political pablum. 3/52
It's like running around shouting "DEFUND THE POLICE!" while willfully ignoring that the police are what keep the average citizen from simply maiming or killing a supposed criminal outright upon suspicion. 2/19
When the State (or meta-State in the case of the international community) proves that they are unwilling or unable to enforce whatever rules there are, others will. 3/19
So, the new hotness (literally) is passing around the Plan A video from Princeton envisionins what a "plausible escalating war between the United States and Russia using realistic nuclear force postures, targets and fatality estimates" would look like. 1/24
They estimate a rough 90 million people dead within the first few hours of the conflict. Which is pretty lightweight and I think that if so, I would be embarrassed at the low bar of desired achievement. 2/24
And I'm not sure why Princeton thinks that they are so incredibly badass for publishing a paper in 2019 with an associated video which shows what the rest of us have literally been gaming out for decades. 3/24
Yes, I know you've never heard of it before. Yes, I know you're looking at some of the videos and screenshots and wondering why in the world your eyes are seeing these things. Yes, I know you have no idea what this is. 2/14
And that's a terrible shame. Because what it is is one of the best tactical turn-based simulations coupled with a complicated economic and faction city system ever created. And I don't say that lightly. 3/14
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to one of the reasons why modern journalism, and that includes blogging in this case, is absolute shit.
This is what someone thinks is a good way to develop content. 1/12
Have you ever wondered at the ridiculous explosion of listicles and other low traction garbage in what purports to be online news and opinion sources? This. 2/12
No, I don't mean GPT-3. The AI is not the problem. The AI is never the problem. The problem is that someone, somewhere, thinks that this is a worthwhile content to publish. 3/12
