GOMBAK: Supporters of several candidates have gathered at SMK Sungai Pusu for nomination day.

Those seeking nominations are: Azmin Ali (PN), Amirudin Shari (PH), Megat Zulkarnain (BN), Zulkifli Ahmad (Bebas), Aziz Jamaluddin (Pejuang), Azwan Ali. ImageImageImageImage
Independent candidate Zulkifli Ahmad is hoping to hold a debate with other candidates contesting the Gombak seat, especially PN's Azmin Ali.

He told BFM News, among the issues he plans to focus on is improving public transport facilities in the district.

3. Submission of nomination forms for candidates at Gombak have been closed at 10am.

The loudest cheers from supporters were for reserved for Azmin and Amirudin.

🚨 JUST IN : FIFA has ordered a formal investigation into FAM’s internal operations for using forged birth certificates to claim Malaysian ancestry for seven naturalised players.

It said both FAM and the players failed to verify the false lineage claims, noting that the players didn’t even read the naturalisation papers they signed.

FIFA ruled that the falsifications gave Malaysia an undue sporting gain, including in the 4–0 win over Vietnam, and rejected claims that the issue was minor or procedural.

It also said FAM was clearly negligent for relying on contradictory, unverified ancestry records and failing to respond to repeated requests for clarification.

The Communications Ministry has retracted its statement on building a pioneering AI system using Huawei Technologies chips.

"Malaysia would deploy 3,000 units of Huawei’s primary AI offering by 2026," said Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching earlier.

A former Immigration officer, now holding the Datuk title, reportedly masterminds a Pakistani cartel smuggling migrant workers into Malaysia and collaborates with Pakistani agents on syndicates like the ‘A to B’.

“He plays a crucial role by arranging migrant worker quota approvals and handling dealings with the department.

“He even owns several companies that exist only on paper to facilitate the syndicate,” a source told Malaysiakini, adding that the Datuk’s son is working in the Immigration Department.

There was no bullying incident at Lahad Datu Hospital that led to the death of pathologist Dr Tay Yien Yaa, said an Independent Task Force.

It found that she was stressed due to her workload, although the tasks were still within her job scope.

Tay allegedly died by suicide last Sept, with her family claiming mistreatment.

SPAN has urged local councils to mandate alternative water supply plans for new data centres to prevent shortages as developments grow in Johor and Selangor.

The commission warned that reliance on treated water for cooling systems will be unsustainable in 3 to 5 years.

“Before the local councils give approvals to build these large-scale centres, they must make sure to state to investors and respective parties the existence of rainwater harvesting, including clean water.

“It cannot be an afterthought,” said chairman Charles Santiago.
