I’m trying to remember that as young people at Harvard, my co-author & I disproved claims of Franklin Fisher/Karl Shell by extending the theory of cost of living Konus indices to agents w changing dynamic tastes and created non-abelian group valued price indices when PPP fails.
That made us targets. Why? Because the 🌎 needs to be made safe for these policy folks in academicians’ clothing. We can’t have theory that turns inflation into measurement. It has to be about fudging, fiddling, lying, manipulating. As if climate activists made all thermometers.
So remember, as your taxes soar (due to indexed tax brackets being under indexed) and your Benefits are slashed (due to anemic COLAs) while your savings are diluted (Google ‘Seigniorage’) that you have the choice to ask questions. Or not…maybe it’s all corporate greed. #GoodLuck

I responded to a question about proper index construction here. Would love to have Prof @RBReich thoughts. Maybe even a debate on CPI and measurement?

Great question. Inflation is SUPPOSED to be a group valued field. In the case of bilateral trade it’s an element of GL(2,R) although the economists haven’t gotten there yet. But it is mostly not a field on Geography. It’s a field on path, Loop, preference and geographic spaces.
Q1: Why is it a field on Preferences?

A1: Because a true COLA is not an index on baskets (mechanical index) but on welfare derived from baskets (economic index). BLS misrepresents CPI being COLA-driven abusing work of Erwin Diewert on Superlative indices. A COLA prices WELFARE.
Q2: Why is inflation a field on LOOP spaces of preferences?

A2: Tastes are seasonal. In USA “We never spill Egg Nog on our bikinis.” What you both want & price HAS to be made seasonal to avoid the Cycling Problem (Holonomy) in index number thy. So we have LOOPS of tastes/prices.

Let me say two things.

A) I have always believed that almost all Unidentified Flying Objects are just that: something unremarkable that is not identified.

B) That has nothing to do with the issue of the remainder. It takes no more than a *single* confirmed inexplicable event.
Beyond that, as I have told you, I am sure that I am being used by at least some of those who have come to talk to me. But I cannot come up with any explanation for some of the representations made to me. And I get more fed up by the day with USG playing “Lucy & the football”.
National Security isn’t license to gaslight & ruin the lives of ordinary folks who aren’t participating in IC games. It’s cruel, abusive & totally UnAmerican. Come up with better cover if you need it. But between bioweapons/UAP gaslighting, you’re playing god. And you’re not him.

You may be undervaluing how devious it can be. Indulge me.

You can ensure, for example; that ideological critics see 100%. They then ridicule the idea of censorship because they do in fact see all tweets!

When I pushed “AudienceCapture” I erred. “FeedbackCapture” is the issue.
Audience Capture is merely a specific case of the more general concept of Feedback Capture. A platform can confuse & gaslight a target. Or a dedicated harassment community can repeatedly paint a target on an individual. Or you can hire a farm of bots to confuse a target/audience.
Conversely, Feedback Capture works to target an audience of an individual who sees the same FUD vocabulary used repeatedly using the previously strategies. The point is that you use black box algos, anonymous accounts, perseveration, FUD, to manipulate BOTH individual & audience.

Washington DC lawmakers make rules to restrict what USG units may do. Units almost always work around the letter of the law to thwart that intent when intent would negatively affect their ability to perform. Examples of this are everywhere.

This leads to DC “Workaround culture.”
I’ve noticed that outsiders are of two minds about this.

A) That’s outrageous!
B) That’s totally normal.

Some examples.

RULE: USG can’t spy on US citizens.
WORKAROUND: Get Allies to spy on your citizens.

RULE: No offensive Bioweapons.
W-A: Do convertible ‘defensive’ research.
RULE: No importing ordinary labor for jobs Citizens can do.
W-A: Reclassify aliens as extraordinary or “students.”

Etc.

Then we come to this moment: Science, Emergency Use Authorization, and Nuremberg rules against forced medical interventions. Or:

This raises a lot of questions. Above all it raises why we’re not using the obvious tools at our disposal: deep painful in depth public hearings.

You shut down the world without in depth public hearings??

Millions dead without in depth public hearings??

Why would that be?
We have a US conservationist non-profit headed by an obscure naturalized zoologist that doesn’t do conservation but specializes in somehow securing enormous levels of defense department funding to produce humanized viruses,and we don’t have him testifying for days under immunity?

I would stop what you are doing and watch Vladimir Putin address his citizens with subtitles in English but ZERO commentary. Sooner, rather than later.

I don’t think this man is bluffing. He is replaying a different version of WWII than we are replaying.

The biggest disconnect is Russian speaking territory. My Russian is lousy, so I would appreciate some help.

In the speech he breaks apart:

Western Elites
Western People
Ukraine
Kiev
Neo-Nazis
Russia
Motherland
Donbas/Lugansk
Crimea

so he is disambiguating quite specifically.
Q: Is he informing us that from this speech on, Russian speaking territories will be treated as Russian soil w/ all Western supplied weapons used against them as Washington/Brussels/London led attacks against RussianTerritory in support of (Neo)-Nazi occupation of Russian Soil?
