Tomorrow night, Nevada may find itself at the center of the political universe. Control of the U.S. Senate may hinge on who wins the Silver State. And who wins Nevada may come down to purple Washoe County.
My final preview on election eve:
I'm proud of the comprehensive midterm election coverage we've been able to bring you on @KRNV this cycle.
A couple quick highlights 🧵
While Adam Laxalt chose not to sit down with us, we had the chance to press Catherine Cortez Masto for our #nvsen preview on rising costs, student loan debt, gas prices and more: mynews4.com/news/local/one…
We interviewed both candidates for Nevada Secretary of State. It was one of the only interviews Republican Jim Marchant has given to a mainstream outlet - and we pressed him on his deep-state cabal conspiracy theory and more: mynews4.com/news/local/dem…
Interviews with both candidates for Nevada attorney general, including pressing Republican Sigal Chattah on her comments that Democratic AG Aaron Ford should be 'hanging from a f****** crane.' mynews4.com/news/local/nev…
Lengthy interviews with Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and her opponent, Eddie Lorton. We also did two fact checks in this race, on violent crime rates and RPD staffing. mynews4.com/news/local/hil…
We also ran explainers of all the statewide ballot questions, interviews with all candidates for Reno city council, deep dives into campaign financing and we aired the only #nvgov debate on our station.
For the rest of our election coverage, including stories on voter turnout, where to vote on Election Day, free rides to the polls from @RTCWashoe and so much more, go to our website. mynews4.com

Good morning from snowy northern Nevada! No new results were posted between 2:30 am and now (thankfully 🙏🏼) but we’re expecting a lot of mail to be processed and counted today. Follow for updates 🧵
The Associated Press has called #NV02 for incumbent Republican Mark Amodei. He easily defeated long shot candidate Elizabeth Mercedes Krause to win a 7th term mynews4.com/news/local/nev…
Eddie Lorton, challenger to Hillary Schieve in the Reno mayor’s race, trails by ~7k votes and posted this update on Facebook this morning.
“Please pray that we can overcome … Hope for a miracle in our City.”
We're still waiting on the rest of Washoe County's Election Day results, as well as rural (and red) Douglas and Lyon counties.
Expect GOP to boost margins in the statewide races more tonight, but...
As we reported earlier, there are at least 16,000 mail ballots not included in tonight's results still to be counted, plus whatever shows up in the mail.
Likely tens of thousands of Clark mail ballots to be counted as well.
Hillary Schieve up 59-41 over Eddie Lorton in the race for Reno Mayor.
County says these results are all early voting and most mail ballots through Sunday.
Washoe school board incumbents Joe Rodriguez and Adam Mayberry are ahead in these early results. Ellen Minetto trails 'Save WCSD' candidate Colleen Westlake.

Saw some questions on social media (incl. from a former councilman) about the free day for Ward 4 residents at the Reno Air Races promoted by councilwoman Bonnie Weber.
Per @RenoAirRaces spox, Weber 'did not pay for the free day but did help with initial fundraising efforts.'
The free day for Ward 4 residents has been offered since 2018.
Air races donated 2 in-kind contributions to Weber's campaign back when she was a county commissioner in early 2010s.
Campaign finance records show $500 for VIP Tickets & Pit Passes and $880 for air race admission
More from an air races spokesperson: "Bonnie has access to far more people in Ward 4 than RARA does. She really just helped to spread the news to as many people as possible."
