Just Stop Oil announces M25 protest halt urging Londoners to 'honour' soldiers for Remembrance Day 🪦

Just Stop Oil announced it will halt its actions on the M25 for Remembrance Day today (Friday, November 11).

In a statement this morning, the campaign group said it will pause its campaign of civil resistance, after blocking the M25 motorway at morning rush hour for four days in a row from Monday, November 7 until Thursday, November 10 🛣️

This week's Just Stop Oil actions were the latest chapter in weeks of disruptive action by the group in and around London, which have seen more than 700 supporters of the group arrested since October.

Just Stop Oil supporters have been arrested over 2,000 times since April 1, with 20 supporters currently in prison ⛓️

In a statement released at 6am this morning, the climate change campaign group called on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to 'consider his statement at COP27' 🗣️

It is not clear how long Just Stop Oil intend to pause action for.
