🧵
On Election Day, 2 counties in Texas opened later than the scheduled 7am due to technical issues. Both were court ordered to extend voting time by 1 hour & close at 8pm to give citizens time to vote.

Bell Cty, population 380k, with 42 poll locations, votes strongly Republican.
Harris Cty - which includes Houston is strongly Democrat, pop. 4.7million with 800+ poll locations.
TX law provides a 12 hour voting time, 7am to 7 pm.
2/
Election Day, AG Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit to stop counting ballots cast after 7pm for HARRIS CTY ONLY, affecting the Dem ballot count.

The TX Supreme Court with all republicans on the bench, agreed.

BUT Bell Cty with their mostly republican ballots, wasn’t disputed by Paxton. Votes cast up to 8pm were COUNTED.

Classic voter suppression by the Texas GQP.
