The nutribuns, said to be fortified with protein, Vitamins A, B1, & C from various vegetables, will be given to 1,000 poor children dubbed “barangay nutrition scholars” in Tanay over the coming weeks to address & prevent malnutrition. | via @anjo_bagaoisan
@anjo_bagaoisan Sen. Marcos describes the nutribuns they give out as now “leveled up”, with flavors such as ube & chocolate, protein-enriched porridge for babies & dried powder versions for disaster relief.

A “nutri-bus” was also launched to facilitate distribution. | via @anjo_bagaoisan
@anjo_bagaoisan Sen. Marcos asks adults in the audience who got to eat nutribuns as kids. She credits what she called her parents’ project for keeping children healthy during the Marcos era.

The nutribuns that came to PH in the 1970s started out as malnutrition relief from USAID.
