I am rarely speechless but today, after reports that Liberal women in the NSW Parliament are likely to go backwards at the next state election, the Executive Director of the Liberal Party official think tank (Menzies Research Centre) said this about young women voters: #nswpol
"Governments must address the promiscuous access to higher education and encourage more young adults to get into the workforce earlier or learn a useful trade." by this he means young women....yes really, educated women are no good for getting Liberal Governments elected. #nswpol
"Young women may be more ideologically drawn to the left than those older and wiser to the ways of the world, particularly those who had the dubious fortune of attending university." women going to university a dubious fortune? Sounds a bit Talibanny to me. #nswpol
"For Liberals in Australia, the rise of single 20 and 30-somethings is one of the most disturbing trends to emerge from last year’s census. For the first time, women under 35 are more likely to be single than not." how dare they?! #nswpol
"Single women, particularly single mothers, have a vested interest in state intervention. A generation ago they could have expected a breadwinner to support them. Today, that breadwinner is the gov... an ever-reliable partner with deep pockets to top up their meagre income."
If you want the full article you can read it here. It is quite a message to young women. #nswpol
