2/ (From above article) "Attending a protest to whinge about job loss resulting from a refusal to meet fitness to work requirements (i.e. vaccination against COVID-19) is the ultimate in privileged griping."
3/ (Abbrev) "Those who attended blockades to end C19 were absurd — one can't protest global pandemic to a conclusion. Never about COVID, vaccines, jobs, trucks, pub health meas or anything remotely tangible. Worse, blockaders in [Campbell's] view behaved like domestic terrorists"
4/ (Abbrev) "Cdns don’t treat this white nationalism & alt-right extremism with the same pressing urgency as treat terrorism that may manifest in racialized communities. [L]ittle focus is paid to white children being radicalized into known terrorist groups like the Proud Boys."

2/ (Abbrev) "The “leak,” to be clear, was the standard readout the PMO issues after almost every leader-to-leader conversation. Foreign Affairs Min Joly also participated in this “leak” by holding a press conference w/travelling media in Bali, discussing what Trudeau said to Xi."
3/ "Getting a lecture on secrecy from the Chinese leader is a little like getting lessons in diplomacy from Trump." thestar.com/politics/polit…
1/ Clever of China's leader to act out of character and cause a stir w/his body language, and act put out over a routine readout that was NOT a leak to the press as he falsely claimed. He successfully switched the coverage from that of China's interference in Canada's politics.
2/ I'm seeing the story of Trudeau and Xi's exchange but not seeing much about the contents of the routine readout. ...
3/ (Abbrev) "According to the readout, during the brief discussion between the two leaders [...] Trudeau raised concerns about media reports that China covertly funded 11 candidates in the 2019 federal election." cbc.ca/news/politics/…
So, what would have happened if the EA wasn't invoked? That's what I'd like to know. I've been following the Inquiry on CPAC, and I'm getting the impression the trucks were there for the long term and the Ottawa & Ont police were not getting them moved out. It was a seige #pnpcbc
2/ I get the impression they were at an impasse. Tow trucks wouldn't comply. Counter protests (understandable they'd be fed up) raised risks. The convoy participants were getting emboldened by lack of enforcement and setting more barrel fires in the street, open movement of fuel.
(Redo) 3/
Counter protesters fed up = raised risk of clashing w/convoy. Fed with being sleep deprived, w/convoy urinating & defecating on their properties, of being harassed for wearing masks, of lack of children getting access to hosp treatments, of businesses closed, and so on.
1/ Emilie Taman w/Coalition of Ottawa Residents & Businesses cross exam'd Chris Deering & Maggie Hope Braun at #POEC, using most of her (short) allotted time to show compilation (had been submitted before POEC began), then asked them about it at the end.
Clips to follow ...
2/ I recorded CPAC’s covrg of Taman’s prez/cross exam of Chris Deering & Maggie Hope Braun at #POEC, and have broken it into 7 parts (limits length of upload length).
Here is part 1/7 from a compilation of vids/imgs taken by people in Ott dur convoy occupation prez by Taman.
3/ Part 2/7 from compilation taken by ppl in Ott, presented by E Taman at #POEC (q’s for Deering & Hope Braun in tweet 8/). Including (not limited to) imgs of Terry Fox statue w/upside-dn Cda flag & sign, dancing on tomb of unknown soldier, flags assoc w/hate, train horns.
Lich testifies she was surprised about the notice to leave because she thought it was a peaceful protest. Come on! So, children being delayed with their cancer treatments is peaceful? Businesses having to close due to customers being harassed is peaceful? #EmergenciesActInquiry
3/ (Ref)
"Hospital spokesperson Paddy Moore said CHEO knew of two families whose travel for cancer therapy was recently and significantly affected by traffic conditions resulting from the protest" cbc.ca/news/canada/ot…
"Elderly were dying alone in long-term care homes."
Does she not understand that if unvaccinated family visited the homes, there would be MORE deaths?
(listening to Lich #POEC#EmergenciesActInquiry)
2/ It's incredibly sad that LTC inhabitants were isolated, but it's not Trudeau's fault. C19 a highly infectious disease, a real threat to vulnerable. And it's a fact that the unvaccinated carry more viral load if w/C19 (& can be false negs w/rapid tests &/or be asymptomatic)
3/ (I've hidden response by anti-vaxxer to this thread but will post fact-check their disinfo) "Fact Check-Preventing transmission never required for COVID vaccines’ initial approval; Pfizer vax did reduce transmission of early variants" reuters.com/article/factch…
