Tom Emmer was the chair of the NRCC this election cycle. He was the guy in charge of electing Republicans to Congress. He once said we could win up to 70 seats. in the end, we barely eeked out a majority. Now, he wants a promotion.
I've talked to a lot of people who work on the Hill who have told me that Tom Emmer was more focused in the last few months on running for whip than electing Republicans to Congress. If there's one man responsible for the lack of a red wave, it was him.
In addition to the piss poor job Emmer did, he is also a RINO: He was one of 9 Republicans to block Trump's ban on transgender soldiers in the military and once voted for bill to strip federal contracts from businesses that don't allow boys to use the girl's bathroom.
Tom Emmer also once sent a letter to the DOT agreeing with Pete Buttigieg that America's highway system is racist. He also in 2012 served as a paid spokesperson for a Soros-funded organization that seeked to rid America of the electoral college.
Tom Emmer also wants to give green card giveaways so that Big Tech can get more cheap labor from overseas.

Now contrast that with @RepJimBanks, one of the best members of Congress. He has a conservative voting record, has done a great job chairing the Republican Study Committee, and understands what a winning conservative movement looks like. He is the real deal.
One thing is clear, Republicans should not be happy after this election and they certainly should not give promotions to the people responsible for it. We need a change at the top and the best thing Republicans could possibly do right now is electing Jim Banks the whip.
The vote is tomorrow. It will held behind closed doors and we'll never see who votes for who. But all I will say is that every Republican that votes for Emmer over @RepJimBanks is looking their voters in the eye and telling them they don't care about winning in the future.
