One of the greatest copywriters of all the time

Gary Halbert

Wrote sales letters that generated millions

He wrote every piece of copy following a 7-step sequence...

Here is his exact sequence, so you can steal it and profit 👇

Thread
Step 1: Say Something That Gets Attention

Hook your reader to read your copy.

Make it simple:

Make an indirect promise related to your audience’s pain point.

“How-to” headlines are great for this. ImageImageImageImage
Step 2: Tell Them Why They Should Be Interested:

It's not enough to get attention.

Funny videos of cats get attention too.

But it's important to turn that attention into interest.

How do you get your audience interested?

Expand on your headline and make a specific promise. Image
Step 3: Tell Them Why They Should Believe What You're Saying Is True

Big claims are cheap.

But your readers only will believe what you can prove.

So, how you can prove things?
🚨 IMPORTANT 🚨

This is a crucial move that changes the game.

Most copy fail because they lack this element.

What element is it?

Credibility and proof.

Will expand on the next step ⬇
Step 4: Prove It's True:

We are talking about:

• Authority
• Credibility
• Social proof
• Proof of works

You only have to show:

• Testimonials
• Cases studies
• Your credentials
• Before and After ImageImage
Step 5: Itemize And Describe All The Benefits

This step is fun.

But please…

Avoid falling into the “bEnEfIts oVeR fEaTurEs” trap.

Use both, as @JoshuaLisec always teaches 👇

@JoshuaLisec Step 6: Tell Them How To Order

When Gary wrote those steps, buying was harder.

The reader had to go to the postal office or order by phone.

Now it's easier, but lots of newbies do it wrong.

You see why in just a second:
The reason newbies copywriters fail, it's because…

They aren't explicit with their intentions.

They just put a button on the page.

But the reader won't click it just because the button is there.

You have to say to your readers what to do...
Step 7: Tell Them To Order Now

Be explicit:

Say something like:

If you want to get {BENEFIT} now, click the bottom below.

Simple?

So simple, yet lots of marketers forget about this point.

A bonus step 👇
