KeMU has partnered with two coast-based organizations: Swahilipot- an anchor partner with Global Opportunity Youth Network (GOYN) & Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) East Africa. The MOUs are intended to benefit youth and unemployed postsecondary graduates in the region.
The partnership with GOYN through Executive Director Mohmoud Noor & Peter Kibe- the project lead -Hospitality will implement dual vocational training in the hospitality sector. This targets youth (18-35 years) who wish to acquire employable industry competencies. #icseastafrica
Currently, the Mombasa campus has mounted a 4-month Pizza Chef course -jointly developed with managers of pizza outlets within Mombasa. KeMU remains committed to addressing the current crisis of graduates unemployment by offering industry-based and demand-driven programs.
The ICS team comprised Mr Elijah Mbaru- Chair ICS East Africa,Tumaini Namoya- ICS Vice Chair, Mr Karisa ICS Education & Training and Mr Awinda Education and Training Officer. The KeMU team comprised the VC Prof Gichoya, DVC A.A. Rev Dr Mary Kinoti & DVC Planning Prof Ken Mugambi.
