How Vinayak Savarkar became Self Certified “Veer” is an amusing story of Megalomania,Narcissism & a carefully crafted fakery
Writing under the pen name of 'Chitragupta’,a book was written titled ‘Life of Barrister Savarkar’.In this book,the author called Savarkar as 'Veer'.

When the 2nd edition of the book was released in 1987 by the Veer Savarkar Prakashan,the official publisher of Savarkar’s writings,Ravindra Ramdas revealed in its preface on Feb 1986 that “Chitragupta is none other than Veer Savarkar”.
Thus Savarkar described Savarkar as “Veer”

A man desperate to convince himself and the world of his heroism, despite the facts of his life making him ill-fit for adulation even in his own esteem.

Manbhum Bangla language Movement - The first resistance against Hindi imposition was started in Bengal , An erstwhile part of Bengal presidency, Manbhum known as Purulia now ,was placed under Bihar state after the 1947 partition.

The proposal for Bengali as the language of Manbhum district was defeated by 43-55 votes at the Congress Party on the 30th May 1948. The President & Secretary along with 35 members resigned from of Congress Party at Manbhum district.

Bengali officers were transferred to the other districts of Bihar. A ruling was issued to teach Hindi from primary classes; Bangla department was closed in the local district school.

21st October ,1943 is a Red letter day for Indian Freedom struggle as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose announced the establishment of the Arzi Hukumat-e-Azad Hind (The Provisional Government of Free India) from Cathay Theater in Singapore

Three days later in act of courageous defiance , PGFI declared war on the British Empire

With the leadership of Bose the provisional government united the Indians living abroad .The Indian National Army drew ex- prisoners and thousands of civilian volunteers from the Indian diaspora in Malaysia & Burma (now Myanmar).

Sylhet - A forgotten tragedy of Partition. For Sylhetis ,Partition Meant Loss of a Homeland, Culture & Language.The Sylhetis of undivided Bengal, after partition were left neither a geographical nor a cultural homeland.

Srihatta is the olden name for Sylhet ,literally means ‘prosperous’.
Geographies, just like people, are born with a fortune. Perhaps no culture & geography in the world is there, who became tragic victims of a crude British administrative & accounting permutation

In 1874 Assam province was carved out from Bengal presidency with Shillong as its capital. Sylhet, though dominated by Bengali-speaking people, was merged with Assam.

Economic Impact of Durga Pujo: Durga pujo is no doubt the biggest festival of Bengalis,its grandeur unmatched world wide & it is totally mass funded exercise which also rejuvenates Bengals economy in the 3rd quarter & brings smiles to every household.

In the 16th century, the Smarta scholar Raghunandan, describing the procedures followed in various pujas, refers to Durga Pujo as ‘Durgotsav’.Hence festivities has been integral part of it

Besides,here the goddess is not only a ‘mother’ like other female deities worshiped in different parts of India. Durga, Uma or Parvati is also a married daughter whose annual visit to her paternal home (the mortal world) along with her family is the cause for the celebration.

The lesser Known Bose- Sarat Bose , brother of Subhas Chandra bose today is his the birth Anniversary . The British police, including the infamous officer Charles Tegart, described Sarat Bose as “the power behind his brother Subhas Chandra Bose”

In 1931,he led the defence in the Chittagong Armoury Raid Case.He went to Chittagong to meet some of the revolutionaries he was defending, unknown to all, he carried in his briefcase & arranged to hand over to them, live bombs with which they could attempt a jailbreak!

A note signed by Sir Charles Tegart, the then commissioner of police, Calcutta, stated that “Sarat Chandra Bose assisted the revolutionary movement for years by means of his purse, his press, and his prestige.”
