Posting this request for help.

From a reporter in India writing a story on the much needed and honestly no-brainer decision of many US univs to include caste in their policies on discrimination.

I'm talking to them of course. If you can also speak to them, pls reply or DM.

Obviously, please only reply if you are a student or faculty or staff or in an organization with some skin in the game.

I for one think EVERY university in US will include caste in the policies. And will tell the reporter why. It's more about the nature of CRA laws than India.

Sanghis & sanghi-lites & MAGAsanghis getting triggered, throwing tantrums about the universities including caste in their policies will in fact ensure that caste gets included in those policies US-wide EVEN faster than if they had just ignored it, lol.

They don't know US history

The best thing about my soon to end Twitter journey is that if some lawyer asks me one day "where were you on the night of maytember ungteen between falana & dhimka PM" I can just be like, gimme a second to run a search on Twitter with dates..I was eating dimsum!

A big reason for me taking to Twitter so enthusiastically was being in Europe during the 2010 world cup.

But that world cup didn't happen in Europe, you say.

Exactly, I say!

It was such an interesting unique time that I had to document it in real time in short bursts.

The biggest hurdle Trump will face in re-election is the grand jury indictment. In fact it's clear that he announced so quickly to muddy the indictment waters. At great personal cost cos now that he's announced, RNC stops paying his substantial legal bills.

The 2nd biggest hurdle he will face is that he is now an established LOSER! He lost the election.

American presidential politics is generally not kind on past losers. Ask Romney, Hillary, McCain, Lieberman, Edwards. And there is a reason. The primary system.

The modern presidential primary is such a long and exhaustive process that it plus the general election campaign mean that any candidate who lost, generally lost for a reason that isn't going away in a few years. And that's a hard hurdle to overcome. That's actual voters.

I'd be harsher on Baquet in terms of how his term saw them generally boosting access stories above their investigative stories.

Haberman type reporting sells paper while still also being, as you pointed out, nuts and bolts day to day political coverage. It reflected in the Times & Post subs and also click stream data. So Baquet also just did this job.

PSA: If you get a DMCA takedown notice over something short you posted for criticism or comment, it is covered by the Fair Use doctrine under US law.

Always dispute. Always. Unless you are actually pirating content for personal profit, the Fair Use protections are pretty solid.

The DMCA Act works such that if a notice is sent by verified copyright holders to Twitter or YouTube or ever, they instantly HAVE TO take it down and send you a notice.

Most people think it's a fait accompli cos the law was written by Hollywood to imply it as such.

It isn't.

Using short clips or excerpts of copyrighted media for comment or criticism, like generally done on Twitter, is very much covered by Fair Use.

Broadcasters & studios just hope you don't know that, and a notice email will scare you off.

But if your use is fair, dispute it!

This is one of those tropes that started first in the deep south US, painting black men as irresistible to white women, which was copied by Nazis as Jewish men being irresistible to Aryan women, and plagiarized by sanghis against Indian Muslim men.

Same stereotypes, same hate.

Sanghis think Muslims simultaneously have too orthodox & misogynistic a society with their hijabs, burqas, namehram rules etc....BUT somehow also end up super successful at seduction and awesome in bed... While having same the DNA as Hindus. 🤔🤷🏽

What makes this extra batshit is that there is absolutely no logical basis to even the notion. US hyper-sexualization of black men is built on West African physiology & history of slavery.
