If Twitter goes down I want to acknowledge and thank all of the remarkable mental health pros and advocates I have learned so much from. Without your empathy encouragement and support from so many of you there is a good chance I wouldn't be training to be a therapist. #RIPTwitter
There is no doubt that without this site my life would be so much different. So many of you helped me get better and helped me figure out I have a place in the mental health space. It has been an absolute honor to be in community with you. You all mean so much to me.
I am so nervous I'll forget someone but I will do my best and add later. Thank you @talk2spirit, @dremilyanhalt, @nikkiLynette, @_mombrain, @Rwenshaun, @TashaJacksTweet, @hcdawes, @avflox, @DrBrodSawyer, @DepressedWBlack, @thatjillian and so many more.
So much more to come in no small part thanks to all of you. I think this network will be here in some way in the future but if not please know how grateful I am for you what the light you bring into this world.🕯️

During my therapy journey I've gotten so much from different therapy modalities. My first therapist was a psychoanalytic therapist - but it was her heart that kept me alive during my darkest times. EMDR taught me how to be with pain and move through it. 1/4
Ideas from family systems and psychodynamic theory helped me understand how growing up in a dysfunctional home affected my relationships- and helped me to be different. Participating in recovery groups online and off gave me inspiration and community to show these ideas work. 2/4
Finding a discipline in life around the gym, in the kitchen, and in my sleep routine gave me the stability I needed to work on these things. And also just finding a way to be somewhat stable with housing and finding a way to afford proper food and medical care was HUGE. 3/4
