🧵 A recent study estimated 1.64 million ppl in the US identify as trans

A known 32 trans (& GNC) ppl have been murdered there this year.Even if all victims were trans, that’s 0.002% of their population

Meanwhile almost 3 women are killed a day, there,by an intimate partner alone
Women in Milwaukee (for example) make up around 0.08% of the US pop. There are 5 times more trans ppl in the US than women in Milwaukee

Yet,43 women were murdered there this year

The murder rate for them was 0.014%

The idea trans ppl are uniquely vulnerable is untrue
The best maths I could do on trans vs non trans murders, using general pop. & murder data from 2021,shows that around 0.007% of non trans people in the US were murdered

When you look at numbers trans people consistently prove less liable to be murdered than those who aren’t trans
Given the murder rate for men is high there (about 0.016%),men who identify as transwomen by all statistical probability become roughly 8x less likely to be murdered than other male peers

Somehow, women are still being compelled to give up our safety for these particular men
#TransDayOfRemembrance doesn’t exist because trans people are the most vulnerable population in either the US,or world

The political movement to erase sex is backed by some very important people and is generating money in all sorts of sectors.

It’s simply a popular cause

It’s half two in the morning and I’m full of beans. Ordinarily, I would haunt someone via the telephone but people often don’t appreciate jaunty English women at such an hour. So if you’re awake and bored, let me tell you my scandalous, Terven secret. Let me unburden myself:
I am deliberately transing the moths in my home.

Theyre the little case-making clothes moths and they are quietly making themselves a house out of the carpet. Despite the Hoover of Doom & the Steamer of Justice, they persist. Through the valley of Lavender, Lo, they have walked
I started researching what other options I might have. Come the spring I can get trichogramma which are a kind of special wasp so small five can fit on a pinhead (angels may or may not join them). They fly about replacing unhatched moths with their own babies&solve the problem.

What’s happening in Canada is frightening. They are making it easier for people who are at their most hopeless to die. By expanding assisted suicide there, they are removing even the criteria for a “reasonably foreseeable” death. So theyre going to take the unknown& make it final
I cant stop thinking about the extraordinary people I know who have stood on the edge and come back from it. All those I might never have met if society had said “so, why don’t you go?”. It’s hard enough to stay when your whole life is hurting, without being aided in your leaving
To make a person's death into a matter of admin,an expedience & ,inevitably,a way of saving money that could otherwise be spent on the resources that might save them is a tragedy. When society treats the lives of some of us as dispensable it can never be a good thing,

My mother was talking politics with a local man and telling him that despite our long family history of being socialists she doesn’t think she can vote Labour in the next GE.

When he asked why she said “Because I have a daughter”
He was nonplussed by this answer so she explained “the Labour Party have gone all in on the pronoun thing. They believe Transwomen are women and…”

The man she was talking to interjected “oh I don’t believe in all that stuff”
“Good” says my mum “but they don’t really think you should be allowed to say so and what’s even worse is that as well as wanting you to call even a 6 ft 4 bearded man with a beer belly “she” if he demands it, a lot of people want to give him access to women’s spaces”

It concerns me how fast some have assumed women were aggressors against children at the Tacoma Event.

Women in this fight are frequently framed as villains or discredited. Such as when the Wi Spa allegations were raised &were dismissed by the mainstream as a right wing plot 🧵
I understand caution about coming to conclusions but that isnt what it is to leap to the idea women have behaved badly. That is, in fact, the opposite of caution. Contributing to the narrative women have done X awful thing is incautious & feeds what is, frankly,a frenzy against us
At this point in time there is no certain information to warrant the assertion women were running about pepper spraying kids.

There’s proof a woman pepper sprayed 2 men, one of whom tried to spit in her face (which is assault), another of whom then reached out towards her.

A paper has been published about a majority female Dutch cohort who were put on blockers.

98% of this cohort went on to get cross sex hormones. The way they found this out was through data mining to see who had or had not got a prescription. 2% hadn’t. So what does it mean? 🧵
Well, it mainly means people are going to be citing this for the foreseeable as evidence that giving blockers to adolescents is good practice. Yet, this paper doesn’t look at how patients are faring, how they feel, whether they’re sick or healthy, if they’re struggling or stable
It doesnt tell us if 2% is the rate of detransition or something else. In fact, rate of detransition here is unknown because getting a prescription for hormones does not mean taking them. It also doesnt mean stopping them. Some detrans people continue to take hormones too

🧵 Last night, after the story started circulating about a woman being denied a vital operation because she wanted female only nurses I saw genderists hoping she’d die and saying the world would be better without her. Spite like this:
It wasn’t unexpected because they consistently sink this low but it always raises the question of whether they’d ever condemn anything done in the name of their ideology for hurting a woman or girl? I don’t think so.

It’s incredibly disturbing.
Women are facing constant provocation, denigration, insults & threats. Yet,I see so many of them being sincere, clear sighted, and decent in the face of it, everyday. It makes me proud to be part of the women’s movement. To stand alongside so much sheer tenacity & humanity.
