1. Age of Voltaire — a well defined on-chain governance system is coming.

Good governance = representation + democratic consent + machine understandable rules + decentralized institutions.

2. Basho — a better, cheaper, faster Cardano is coming.

eUTXO > account model, prioritise determinism in code, and include the public more during development as seen with input endorsers.

3. Mithril — a faster yet still secure way to start interacting with the blockchain, that enables more innovations, is coming.

As time passes, data on the blockchain increases, making it tedious to obtain it all. Mithril seeks to solve this data availability issue.

4. Hydra — an L2 for Cardano is coming.

Take some transactions off the main chain, evaluate the net actions that happened, then go back to the main chain to settle the entire transaction.

5. Sidechains — a Cardano that's interoperable with other chains with different needs/wants is coming.

💡
If you have a robust L1, why not maximize its potential by having other chains leverage this robustness by having them connect with this L1?

6. Midnight — a new privacy focused blockchain is coming.

💡
Three human rights that blockchains are not addressing are freedom of association, freedom of commerce, and freedom of expression. Confidentiality solves this.
