Sunday lunchtime and he is falsely accusing one of our reps and a whole section of union of making memes about him. He later had to admit he was wrong and edit the post.
Tonight and he’s completely making up that he thought we would endorse the surrender document - despite us publicly posting our rejection of it at 12:14 yesterday.
They say the last posting date must be December 16th. This is rubbish. If they put a proper offer on the table then our members would be back to work and they would save Christmas.
This is a choice to destroy postal workers and the service.
Today Royal Mail Group have called together every postal worker in the UK and announced they want to make 10,000 redundancies.
This is nothing but an intimidation tactic aimed at crushing the spirit of our members #StandByYourPost
General Secretary @DaveWardGS “The announcement is the result of gross mismanagement and a failed business agenda of ending daily deliveries, a wholesale levelling-down of the terms, pay and conditions of postal workers, and turning Royal Mail into a gig economy style courier.
“What the company should be doing is abandoning its asset-stripping strategy and building the future based on utilising the competitive edge it already has in its deliveries to 32 million addresses across the country.
Last night @IanKingSky published an article stating the union should be worried about our position on the Royal Mail Group plans to ‘modernise’
Ian didn’t offer us a chance to comment so here’s a thread 🧵
Ian said the company needed to modernise. What he didn’t say was that Royal Mail want to put some workers start times back 3 hours. That’s mail arriving 3 hours later than it does now.
In what way is modernisation getting the product to the customer later?
Ian talked about the view and influence of shareholders. What Ian didn’t say is that Royal Mail have given those shareholders a billion pounds since privatisation.

This is the story of a union and a membership that wants to serve the nation. Next time someone talks about union dinosaurs direct them here......
Two weeks ago the CWU returned a huge 94.5% yes vote for strike action in our long running dispute with Royal Mail.
We didn’t call action. We put the country first and called on Royal Mail and government to use postal workers to keep communities connected google.co.uk/amp/s/metro.co…
We wrote to @BorisJohnson offering to check on the elderly, delivery medicine and connect communities
Our members continued to work in difficult circumstances. Some of the lack of PPE, dirty workplaces and lack of social distancing are a disgrace
