I didn’t want to post about this, because frankly, it is exhausting and its personal. I’ve been having this exact same argument for my entire adult life.
Here's some evidence to debunk the inevitable nonsense the media will spew.
I 100% know pretty much exactly every single thing an anti-gun person will say at this point...the same old tired nonsense the wheel out of storage every time there's a tragedy on the news they can milk for political points.
They'll do that for #Chesapeake, my home town, too.
The simple reality of the situation is that the US is a very large country by global standards. Mass shootings aren't a US only issue as the liars in the press and their hack friends will say
A whole lot of "nice" nations (by which the vultures means "Western Europe) have much higher "mass shooting deaths per capita" than the US does...including France, Germany, Norway, Spain, etc
According to this 2018 study (surveying data over an 18 year period), US is 64th in world in terms of mass shooting per capita. That sounds worse than it is cause most countries don't track this data.
You WILL be lied to a lot in the coming days about how only gun control can solve this.
The reality is that the LOWEST gun homicide rates in America are in...Wyoming...where 59.7% of homes have a gun and which has the LEAST restrictive gun laws.
Whereas the "state" with the HIGHEST gun homicide rate is...Washington DC...which has the strictest gun laws in the country and ownership rates below most Euro countries.
You know how to ACTUALLY convince me you're serious about reducing gun homicide?
When you actually bring down gun homicide rates in jurisdictions you've politically dominated FOR DECADES using the tactics you want to "go national" with.
One glance at gun homicide rates in St. Lo, Chicago, or Baltimore (all of which have been run by anti-gun Democrats FOR DECADES) proves that said tactics do not work.
Yet Libs blame everyone BUT the folks in charge of those jurisdictions.
If you can't read it, its the saga of one specific straw purchased gun being used in a dozen criminal acts.
Libs gun control debate is entirely media driven to gin up outrage 4 political points, not solve the problem
Its an attempt to shift the responsibility for criminal violence AWAY from the criminals who did it and onto 3rd parties that are easier to police for OBVIOUS fiscal benefit for Lib interest groups.
You can't sue Baker (the guy who bought the gun in the WaPo story) or Stunna (rapper who acquired the gun and used it horribly). There's no $ in that.
But u can shake down Bob' Shotgun Emporium or Remington & that's what Libs ACTUALLY want
Meanwhile, a few U.S. ZIP codes, practically all of them represented exclusively by political party which always promotes gun control, are plagued by gun homicides and nobody in power is willing to lift a pinky finger to do anything meaningful about it.
Instead, they use these horrendous tragedies to try to...punish folks in political opposition to them.
Its downright SICK.

The Statehouse, State Sen, Attorney General, and Gov. of Colorado where mass shooting happened = ALL Dems.
Rather than blame people ACTUALLY IN CHARGE of state, Libs are generating conspiracy theories.
Logically, assemblyman would WANT 2 PUNISH attacker for kidnapping daughter!
I mean, seriously, do these people REALLY think that Republicans somehow don't love their kids...but only their grandkids who bomb threatened and kidnapped their kids?
Their claimed motive here is LITERALLY BACKWARDS from the direction it logically would be.
The Democrat's second biggest donor was flat out gambling his customer's money and giving the proceeds to Dems.
This was "spectacularly illegal."
The FTX Disaster is Deeper Than you Think via @YouTube
Its important to remember that Dems and their media buddies totally enabled this guy stealing his customer's money and are flat out trying to write the regulations governing the company.
Seriously, Biden's SEC flat out PROMISED never to look into it...basically saying "We know you're lying, but we'll look the other way."
Rural areas are often a bit slower for good reason (it's naturally more difficult to collate ballots in that kind of environment) and the count has steadily increased and parts of NV had a lot of drop offs on election day.
I wouldn't trust any ongoing uncalled elections as an example of fraud (as people are quick to baselessly call fraud when things don't go their way and we don't know the full story) so let's pick ones from 2018 and 2020 which we know the results of.
