MY EXPERIENCE: The Obi-Datti Campaign at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan today

I went to Adamasingba today for two reasons

1. To confirm or demystify what naysayers are saying about SW especially Oyo not receptive of Obi, that we Yoruba do not like him
2. To have a glimpse of this man live has I have never seen him before except on media

Considering the distance to my place, I shouldn't think of it,

cos it's quite far and would cost me some important cash. But I decided to go anyway and clear all doubts.

The campaign was supposed to start by 10am, I got to the venue about 10:20am just because madam decided to move with me, as her workplace isn't far from the venue...

So I have to drop her at work first.
When I got to the venue, police checked my car in by first search it and asking what I wanted and I replied that "I am here for Obi-Datti Campaign". I never saw police that polite in a while and I was let through..the parking lots were scanty

and I saw the open field next to the main bowl of the stadium being set up for the campaign as against the impression of using the main bowl of the stadium we all had.

Anyways, I settled in, on one of the arranged chairs but a pocket of people are till around...

and everything is becoming scary cos it's past 11am already and I began to shiver that will this not end in shame like this? Ahhh, BATIDIOTS will shame today... Ẹtiku will fire me today, still I "gallant" and chill.

Then, people started trooping in... Between 11:30am and 12pm everywhere is filled all of a sudden with no sign of Peter Obi. The rumours started flying in, that his flight was grounded by FG. Some rumours about the stadium was that we couldn't use the main bowl twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

cos the organiser are scared we wouldn't be able to fill up the seats (10,000 seats) and another rumour was that GSM just renovated the pitch and wouldn't want it destroyed.... Anyhow we are sha at Adamasingba.

I saw old men and women, middle age and youths...

For a fact I saw Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and some Niger Delta people. But I saw more of Oyo people, more of yoruba, we were all United...we spoke one language and we all excited waiting for Peter Obi.

Furthermore Pa Ayo Adebanjo decided to break the whole table... His speech is highlighted as follows
- The final solution to Nigeria problem is restructuring.
- Tinubu through APC promised Afenifere and Nigerians in 2014 promised restructuring....

But ignore when they got to power to pursue selfish gain.
- He (Ayo adebanjo) was there for Tinubu was he needed him to become Lagos state government and when Fashola was to be installed as Lagos state governor he stood in support of Tinubu.

- when Tinubu came to sell GMB to them, he stood in support of Tinubu.
- If he didn't hate him then, he has no reason to hate him now. But the point is if the power must come to the south it must go the SE
- the agreement in the first Republic was that everyone would government..

itself & come together at federal level & even at federal level,power wuld be rotated.
- Since the 2nd republic,SW has tasted power despite Afenifere was against the choice of OBJ, SS in person of GEJ tasted power too & the next region is SE,there Obi shld be supported for the...

sake of justice and fairness that Afenifere stands for from the time of Awo.
- if we refused SE to secede as the wanted, then we must allow them their equal rights at when due,which is now
Then Baba finally raised the hand of Obi in affirmation of the decision of Afenifere group

The gubernatorial candidate of LP in Oyo was direct in his speech and stated why Tinuṣubu shouldn't be voted by Oyo people and why Obi should be voted. Highlighted as follows
- Tinubu worked against an Ibadan daughter from become a speaker of NASS

- Tinubu insulted the past olubadan, also rejected his chieftaincy title offer
- Tinubu was the Chancellor of LAUTECH with any meaningful contribution to the university not even any help to assist the institution while it was in serious crises

- that the wife of Olubadan is the first daughter of Nnamdi Azikiwe who is Igbo and since Igbo has become our in-laws in Ibadan, we must show Obi love by voting him cos he is now part of us.

Some things I noticed & acknowledged by reports Fresh FM radio r highlighted as follows

- the regular Ibadan thugs/agberos that normally invade other parties for what to take were nowhere to be found. I learnt they said they can't come cos "we no dey give shishi
- the environment was to lovely and warm like a carnival..no single fight broke

- placards with message for peaceful election was flying around
- different support groups in tens were there showing love...
- there was no single inducement or fine over sharing of money of any kind. Everyone took care of themselves.

I am in my 40s but I will say this is the first Presidential Campaign I would be attending.. it could have been 2015 but my job wouldn't allow me then. I have been able to proof that it was all lies that Oyo people don't want Peter Obi. The sun today was mad at human kind,

even my phone was shutting down due to crazy heat, bt Pple dared the sun, stood under the sun and waited for hours for Obi arrival. Something that financial induced crowd wuld have never done. I saw Pple like me who came on their own volition, with genuine hope for better Nigeria

I saw Pple leaning on their last hope 4 Nigeria by supporting Obi.I saw the last fight for hope,I saw eyes lit in fire 4 restoratn of their livelihood.I saw many people running 4 president thru Peter Obi.God bless Nigeria if the wil of the Pple is not suppressed by force.

How come I forgot another interesting part.Pple couldnt wait for Obi's chopper to land successfully b4 bombarding the area,they damned all the wind blows caused by d blades,some were standing on containers very close by jst 2 have a glimpse of Peter Obi.The love was extraordinary
