Being a creator means you need to generate content at scale.

The fastest way to become prolific is by having these 4 systems in place:
1/ Idea Capture

You need a system for capturing new ideas, rough notes, and insights

The more you write the more idea's you'll have. Capture these immediately so you don't forget.

I use Microsoft OneNote.
When you think of ANYTHING - write it down.

This might be a few bullet points or a few paragraphs.

In a short amount of time you'll have pages and pages of ideas and half written essays that makes revising later that much easier.

This is the rough notes
2/ Writing

In order to be prolific you need to write every day.

The strongest systems are built around a routine.

And if this isn't your main job? You'd better do it early.
Wake up each morning ( #5amwritersclub anyone? )., then:

• Make coffee.
• Sit down and write for an hour.
• That's it.

Treat it like it's your job. Pro's don't miss work.
3/ Scheduling

Scheduling takes time and is a great opportunity for automation.

Plan an hour each week to move content into a scheduler.

I use @HypeFury.

It doesn't count until it's published.
A requisite for scheduling is actually having a schedule.

Just starting out?

1 thread + 1 daily tweet every week.

Write it down and stick to it.
4/ Engagement

You need to attract attention to your work.

The best way to do this is by engaging with other people.

An automated posting schedule frees you up to engage with people on your list.
Not using lists?

You should start.

Add people to your list who are in the same space, and who you'd love to work with.

This will get you started:
Tl;dr:

Move your ideas through the process:

Capture --> Writing --> Publishing

Gain attention by engaging with others.

Before covid I flew A LOT.

3-4 roundtrips per week. International. Domestic. I did it all.

My last big flight was to Norway in November 2019. Since then, I think twice?

Well I flew again today.

(A short lesson in customer appreciation):
I was coming back from Tampa.

Took the redeye over on Monday. Looked at a boat for a client Tuesday. Took the bright eye home this morning.

Just a quickie.
Everything went fine. Check-in seems slower than it used to.

Don't have unlimited lounge access anymore ☹️

But the flights were on time and with no major issues.

Writing every day is hard.

It takes a lot of creative energy, and a consistent schedule.

Switch it up, keep it fresh, and STILL get it done using voice transcription.

Here is your quick start guide:
The app of choice?

@otter_ai

You talk. It transcribes.

Then it converts them into text files which you transfer to your computer.

This raw material can be quickly cleaned up, punctuation added, and formatted, resulting in a first draft that was generated fast.
The creative work can be done at any time while you are on the move.

I dedicate an hour for writing each morning. Some days that's not enough.

Having an option to get ideas fast is a game changer.

Here is how to maximize your time on the mic:

Weekly Roundup!

I've got a confession. I'm overscheduled this week.

But a little is better than none and consistency is important.

-/short/-
🟠 Big Idea

The big idea I've been thinking about this week is how to write more, faster.

Especially when traveling.

I've got some ideas. Be on the lookout for a thread or two in the near future.
🟠 Tweets of the Week

@jayclouse dropped this much needed dose of reality.

Consistency, sacrifice, long term commitment.

Plus my favorite - Slowly, then all at once.

This is the mindset you need to make it.

Amateur advice = Plan your perfect day. Design your life around that.

Professional advice = Three days are better than one.

Here is why and what they are:
Your perfect day?

Maybe you sleep in and start late with a nice cup of coffee.

Do a bit of writing, go on a long walk, cash some checks.

Finish the day with dinner and a movie with friends.

Now imagine doing that every day for the rest of your life.

Mind numbing.
Human beings thrive on diversity and personal growth.

Growth requires effort then rest.

And some days you just need to coast.

Instead of optimizing for one day optimize for these three:

The Blue Check:

• What it means
• How it changed
• Why did it change

And most importantly, is it worth $96 a year?

I did the research so you can decide if its right for you:
What did it USED to mean?

A blue check was used to indicate active, notable, and authentic accounts of public interest.

These were independently verified by Twitter IF these accounts met the following requirements:

• Authentic
• Notable
• Active

How were these met?
Authentic

This used to be verified by providing an official website, copy of government ID, or with an official email address.
