Write a notice of apology + a plan to start making amends for what scared adults did to children. The kids were not being "adaptable"; they were forced to stand down, become anxious, depressed, socially isolated & lose therapy services. The academic losses are the smallest issue.
I can't even begin to say how weird & messed up this distortion of reality is. There's something seriously wrong with the author of this piece.

Not a single child chose to have playgrounds closed off with police tape or their therapy services shuttered.

🧵#Hyperthread
They did not choose to be anxiety ridden. They didn't choose to be hungry. They didn't choose to lose physical contact with family members and friends.

Power hungry adults shutdown their lives and tried to keep that power for as long as possible.
The only apology they can make is stepping FAR away from these kids.

Get out of education. Stop trying to justify your actions. Admit you are frauds who harmed a generation of children & voluntarily remove yourselves from this sphere.
As for what needs to be done for these children, the whole way school operates should be changed. No more age-based learning. There were always big gaps in ability & it's more pronounced than ever.
Let kids start where they are & work forward, without the stress of moving to another grade within a time limit.

They mastered adding? Move on to subtracting. Just keep moving forward. The only test should be to check understanding.
Not measuring one child against another, only comparing each individual child against themselves. No more teaching to the test, remove that pressure.
More outdoor time.
More movement.
More free time.
More choices.
Better food.
Focus on independent learning as much as possible, as a child is capable.

America is supposed to be free but our children haven't been learning freedom for decades now. Understand that & you won't be surprised by the socialist turn so many people have taken.
Basic academics should not be taking a whole day. An ELA lesson, math lesson, history lesson & science lesson can be done in a couple of hours with a few adults around for assistance as needed.

Beyond that should be free choice of various lessons and activities.
So if the people who not only shutdown schools but called for the closures of therapy services, playgrounds, and basic freedom of movement want to say anything to children, it should only be "We're sorry for how much we hurt you, we're stepping away now."
Obviously, this is my idealized version of the public school system. School choice & education freedom is the best bet for making this normal for most children.

It's frustrating. The old guard RINOS & CINOS are losing on purpose while the Left is self-destructive. Meanwhile, they run the education system...

...& not enough parents are getting it through their skills that they can't let these "experts" raise their children from birth (6 weeks old) & expect their kids to be okay.
I mean, how many public confessions does @libsoftiktok have to post before people stop putting the kids on the bus?

And that's a bigger issue within the Right. They don't like to think they're lazy but they ARE, just in a different way than the Left.

Winter sicknesses are here. I've got a cold, my dog has a cold, so here are some natural remedies for common illness symptoms. Personally, I'd rather avoid medications if possible. Not to say there isn't a time & a place, but if I can drink tea instead I will!

"Standardized Testing and the Destruction of Education"

More testing, less interesting. Our school system is setting students up for long-term failure.

Most of us know the feeling of hating going to school. For me, that started in 2nd grade with spelling test anxiety. I was convinced I was never going to learn to read or write. A string of infections & a tonsillectomy made it even harder for me to keep up!
The system had nothing in place for me or my brother, for whom they missed dyslexia. I learned to read on my own time, in my own way. School, in fact, held me back. My brother as well, who ultimately learned to read through video games.
