Stop assuming that your customers want things that you want.
a 🧵
1/ Mind projection fallacy happens when we assume that most other people are like us.
It’s an error to assume that they have similar desires and fears towards things as we do.
2/ Normally, this is not such a big issue.
The worst that can happen in most cases is perhaps an exchange of incredulous looks (for example, when a cricket fan encounters a non-cricket who doesn’t know who Sachin Tendulkar is).
Perhaps the most important meta-lesson for self-growth is that there’s a world of a difference between good and bad teachers.
So many people abandon growth because their teachers don’t know how to teach.
If you’re not making progress in an area you’re motivated in, it’s probably that you ended up with a mediocre teacher.
Try changing the teacher before your love for the domain dies.
TLDR: given the amount of time you’ll end up investing in learning, it is a no-brainer to invest upfront to find the best teacher/coach/trainer that you can.
Just starting with anyone who you can find available is almost guaranteed to be suboptimal.
