An overview of the protests happening in China 🧵

This video sums it up pretty well:
It happened in Chengdu, Sichuan
A small group of people were chanting:

"We want freedom" in Mandarin

Then the bystanders shouted in Sichuan dialect:
"fk your freedom"
Vast majority of the people protesting simply wants the covid policy to change

However, there is a small minority of people that are using this as a stepping stone for regime change

These people are working directly with foreign journalists, so their voices are overrepresented
On telegram groups, these people have their list of contacts

So what you see on twitter is NOT the voice of the people, it's the voice of western journalists
These journalists work with professional protesters to set the narrative

Once the narrative is set in your mind, everything you see tend to follow their train of thought, this is how they get you

I've been listening to these professional protesters for hours
Most active people in that group are not in China, one girl described herself as an "activist" from overseas

So there is a clear divide between the reasonable majority, and the tiny minority that have ulterior motives
How will China deal with this?

Carrot and Stick:

The Carrot is to ease covid restrictions, or the central government can release a timetable for reopening

The Stick is to divide the tiny minority colluding with foreign journalist from the majority, deal with them separately
The tiny minority colluding with foreign forces are organized

So, catching one of them, especially the "frontline commanders", you'll take the entire group down

This is the protest manual written by professional protesters from overseas

Filled with tactics from 2019 Hong Kong
The government must act quickly to prevent these people from hijacking the narrative inside China

Once the concerns of the majority is addressed

The minority with ulterior motives will be exposed and their color revolution defeated

The protests in China seems to be fizzling out faster than a wet firecracker

This protest in Guangzhou, you see 5 protesters being scolded by locals, as the police and onlookers enjoy the show

Here's what they said...🧵
Some key sentences translated by Weibo users:

Local dude: "Are you even from Guangzhou"?

"You are not here to help us, you are here to create trouble"

"We Cantonese are very generous, if you need money we can give you some" (implying they are paid by foreign forces to protest)
Some of you may not know this, but Chinese people's tolerance for foreign backed protests is below zero

The Century of Humiliation is deeply entrenched in our collective psyche

So next time you buy protesters, make sure they don't look like a Democrat voter from New York Image

Objectively speaking, a blank piece of paper is the most stupid prop you can have for a protest

It's just asking people to photoshop jokes on them ImageImageImageImage
First picture says

Others received 1000 yuan, why was I only given 500? I want my money
Second image says

50 yuan one time

China has developed a "Close-Loop Autonomous Weapon System"

Where the AI onboard of drones can decide whether to pull the trigger, completely free from human intervention

A thread on the autonomous killing machines of the PLA...🧵
According to the CEO of CASIC, this system is already operational on the WJ-700 drone

Algeria have already purchased the WJ-700 drone
The drone itself has 3 modes of detection

Synthetic-aperture radar, Electro-optical pod, and ELINT (detecting enemy transmissions)

The WJ-700 can detect a target, match the target profile to a database, then decide whether or not to attack it, all done autonomously

Protest organized by someone in Shanghai, chanting "Down with the party, down with Xi Jinping"

There's a line for decency in civil disobedience, and when you cross it, you lose popular support

In China, that line is the Party
Frustrations at the government is temporary and understandable, but this crosses the line by making it purely political

The Party must act quickly. The people, not paid agent provocateurs need a light at the end of the tunnel
The protest narrative seems to be caused by the 10 people who died in the Urumqi fire and anti-lockdown sentiment

Just look at their sad faces:

Here's my take on the tragic fire in Urumqi Xinjiang, China
How did it happened, why did happen...🧵

Before this fire, the general trajectory of the COVID policy, was to gradually reopen, in a stepped process

But this fire could be the catalyst that accelerate the process Image
First of all, it doesn't even matter if 0 COVID policy were the direct cause or not, I've been on Weibo for hours

Pretty much every post is blaming 0 COVID policy
Specifically, the Urumqi city government's version

The people is using this as a window to vent their displeasure
Now to the actual cause to the tragedy

Local pandemic control staff did NOT stop the fire engine

They can't get closer because of the alleyway leading up to the apartment was blocked by parked cars

The barricade were torn down, and did not block the fire engines Image

Many of you by now, may have heard of the protest at the Foxconn factory in Zhengzhou China

Here's a thread discussing the cause and deeper implications of the protest

No whitewashing, no sensationalism just pure hard facts...🧵 Image
Let's set the record straight, the protest is not about pandemic control policies, though it's one of the contributing factors

The main problem here, is Foxconn is accused of changing their temporary employment contracts, and not honoring their advertised pay
Several weeks ago, Zhengzhou saw a COVlD spike, and workers started to leave the industrial area where Foxconn was located

Foxconn would usually hire seasonal workers to meet the iPhone release cycle

So workers would come here and work for several months and move on
