Basically the concept of a collegium came up in a law seminar and was thrust upon the nation by coming up with new meaning to the word 'consultation' to mean concurrence! And through a series gradually expanded.

Read how Justice Verma who brought forth the #Collegium system was disappointed with it. Shows it was wrong decision to alter consultation to imply concurrence. Then they piled on CJI+4 senior judges. Consultation with legal community for improvements brings in quota system!
All this shows #Collegium was a bad experiment that went wrong as its creator Justice Verma himself realized it's #Frankenstein nature. We need to go back to what the Constitution says and comply with it and not these expanded definitions.
