But I'm not commanding. I'm speaking to norms, customs and generalities. Ones that trace back to the very beginning of human existence and are deeply embedded in who we are as a species. Men and women aren't meant to be the same. We never have been; in many ways, we are opposite.

I saw an article on CNN (of course) heading into last week commanding how important it is to involve men in the Thanksgiving food prep/dishes cleaning. What?!? Fuck off. Who the hell are you? Do what you want at your own gathering, but no, my family is happy just the way we are.
This doesn't mean women can't hang by the fire, sip whiskey and smoke gars with us while we watch the Lions and Cowboys. They can and some do! Similarly, if a man would prefer to be up in the kitchen whether hanging or helping, they can and some do that too.
