More scoring would make watching soccer more fun #USAvIRN
Damn, it is a ghost town here, wherever the chatter is on the #USAvIRN game, it is not in my Twitter feed!
I do not watch much soccer, but seems like US is *dominating* Iran, making this narrow 1-0 lead pretty darn frustrating!

Regulate guns like vehicles:
1) License: several hours of training, pass written & practical test to operate
2) Register: every gun
3) Regulate Production: make them safe
4) Insurance: required to buy to cover any injuries or death caused by gun through fault or negligence
Leaving a loaded gun just sitting on the nightstand may look cool to the whomever @elonmusk is trying to impress, but it is *way* more likely to lead to injury or death of someone in his family, than to be used in protection.
Lots of "you don't know what AR stands for in AR-15, so you don't have a right to speak about our regular mass shootings" energy in this thread. Does not matter if @elonmusk staged his guns or not: unsecured guns kill a lot of people through suicide, domestic violence, accidents.

@elonmusk When you have a civil debate about whether creating a chrisofascist state with limited rights & opportunities for LGBTQ, Jews, Muslims, non-whites, women is good idea the christofascist debating in bad faith has already won.
It is critical that we learn & debate about christofascism, but doing so with christofascists on this platform just serves to amplify & normalize their positions.
Great question from @elonmusk supporter: no, I do not feel guilt for things that are attributed to my surname (no relation) in centuries outdated antisemitic conspiracy fever dream popular among Trump/Musk supporters and other antisemites

Musk spends most of the pay engaging with & promoting & legitimizing white supremacists, but he calls himself a centrist.

Mainstream Media: we report what people label themselves.
Every Democrat who backs an option for anyone to buy Medicare, sensible gun safety, spending & R&D for climate change, returning corporate taxes to pre-Trump is backing popular, good, necessary plan for US.

Mainstream Media: left of Republican Elite, so we call them radical.
Just so we are clear, @elonmusk is not promoting mainstream Republicans, but actual self-identified fascists and white supremacists

@elonmusk @mtaibbi Owner of @Twitter backs absurd & dangerous propaganda that Trump was proven to not have ties to Russia. Mueller was very clear: Russia cyber-attacked US in 2016 & Trump backed this attack. He could not prove collusion, because Trump's obstruction of justice was so thorough.
Further, Trump's Campaign Manager Manafort floated policies to breakup Ukraine AND supplied campaign data to Russia. Once elected, Trump laughed it up with Russians in Oval, while planning how to obstruct investigation into ongoing Russian cyberattack on US
Then (2018) Trump prostrates himself to Putin in Helsinki, declaring his trust of Russia over US. In 2019 Trump withholds military aid to Ukraine/Zelensky, trying to blackmail them to create anti-Biden propaganda, Republicans back Trump's blackmail/smear attempt (1st Impeachment)

I was worried @elonmusk would kill @Twitter by (1) Eliminating content moderation, flooding platform with death, porn, hate. Seems like legacy systems are holding, but low-quality content is a battle, and without anyone manning Twitter, it will start to flood in soon ...
(2) Compromising security, which still seems assured: do not provide any sensitive information to Twitter, as it will almost surely get sold or breached in the near future ...
(3) Being a MAGA Tech-bro, I assumed @elonmusk would push that on the platform, infecting the tenor of discourse with his hate. He has just basically replaced Trump at this point ...

Mainstream Media’s coverage of 2022 was even more absurdly pro-Republican than 2016 (1) I had no problem reading the same polls as Mainstream Media and seeing Democrats likely to beat raw average and compete for 51 seats …
Republicans value cheerleading, even if cheerleading horserace coverage not helpful, thus Republican pollsters flooded raw averages w/ Republican-biased polls to prove their loyalty, then Mainstream Media demanded Republicans would beat that biased average: to prove their loyalty
(2) Much more important to me Mainstream Media committed to Republican narrative that voters cared about inflation & “crime”, and faithfully reported endless stories about how important inflation & “crime” was to “red wave” …
