The state of Washington knowingly hired Mark James, a 22-time felon, to work with vulnerable patients at Western State Hospital. "Well," you might argue, "everyone deserves a second chance!" And I agree - however ...
As @seanrobinson1e4 reported, James was hired just 13 DAYS after being booked on a fugitive warrant and 6 DAYS after being booked on new felony charges. And not only that...
James was convicted of FIVE MORE FELONIES after he was hired. Not only did the state know about those convictions, but his supervisor wrote a letter on his behalf for sentencing, calling him an "exemplary employee." It gets worse... 
Unsurprisingly, the hospital discovered that James had been siphoning money from accounts of severely developmentally disabled patients (money the patients can use if they want to purchase snacks, go see a movie with family, etc). So, what did the hospital do when it found out?
Was James fired or put on administrative leave? Of course not, because this is the government after all. James was reassigned to a different job at the same hospital FOR SEVEN MONTHS until he resigned on his own.
Oh, and James never faced criminal charges for the theft, despite police saying there was evidence to arrest him for felony theft. Prosecutors didn't think his victims would be able to assist in the case as witnesses.
So, for those of us keeping track: A 27-time felon was gainfully employed by the state of Washington, making $118,000 a year and stealing from mentally disabled people without consequence, while other state workers were fired for the (checks notes) crime of being unvaccinated.
