I have received a message from the Speaker of the National Assembly regarding the establishment of an Ad-hoc Committee on a legislative proposal to amend the Constitution to entrench certain specialized funds. - Sen. Kathuri Murungi #BungeLiveSEN

The National Assembly on Thursday, 24th Nov 2022 resolved as follows:
1. To establish a joint Parliamentary Ad-hoc Committee on a proposal to amend the Constitution to entrench certain specialised funds comprising 11 members from each Houses to....Sen. Kathuri Murungi

- facilitate collation of the views from the comments by MPs during the general debate on the proposal
- invite members with similar or related proposals to make submissions before the committee.

- invite, engage with and consider submissions from stakeholders and relevant constitutional and statutory bodies with a law reform mandate including Attorney General and the Commissions and Independent Offices established under Chapter 15 of the Constitution.

- in consultation with the sponsors, attempt to develop and recommend a harmonized version of the proposal arising from the submissions received. - Sen. Kathuri Murungi #BungeLiveSEN

- Report to the Houses of Parliament within 90 days to enable to the Speakers to make a decision and give direction on whether or not the proposal is to be published into a Bill or not to be proceeded with. - Sen. Kathuri Murungi #BungeLiveSEN
