It’s very horrifying sick that the US is the only country among industrialized nations that doesn’t provide universal healthcare that leaves 8 million people of reproductive age uninsured. Additionally, eleven states have yet to expand Medicaid as stipulated by the ACA. (1/3)
Thus leaving tens of thousands of people of reproductive age, who are disproportionately people of color in the Medicaid coverage gap. There are solutions to addressing our country’s horrifyingly high maternal mortality rate. All birthing women should have to access to free (2/3)
or affordable primary care; comprehensive reproductive health care before, during or after pregnancy; a maternal health workforce mainly comprising midwives covered by insurance; and comprehensive postpartum support. We’ve got to do better than this, people. #MedicareForAll (3/3)

Most Americans forget that Roe was decided as a right to privacy issue, the privacy between a doctor and patient. In their ruling, the majority opinion basically stated that there is no right to privacy and therefore the right to an abortion was not guaranteed. The problem (1/4)
here is that the right to privacy is the basis for so many things Americans approve of and feel are part of their basic freedoms. Laws can’t work if certain basic things like the right to privacy aren’t applied the same way for many issues, therefore they’ve opened up the (2/4)
possibility that a large number of issues considered a right and a basic freedom by the vast majority of Americans can be voided. The law of unintended consequences is rearing it's ugly head and WILL bite us all, much to the detriment of the republic as a whole unless the (3/4)
Hate doesn’t grow in darkness or in a vacuum. It’s given life when well meaning human beings give it space. When family members, friends and colleagues choose to look the other way. When the institutions within a community, state and country choose to dismiss, overlook or (1/4)
weaponize it, but it knows no boundaries nor does it respect any boundaries. It sole goal is to take over wherever it’s given comfort. We don’t have to be participants, but we do become accomplices in its neighborhoods. If it’s allowed to fester, it can infect everything (2/4)
including families, homes, neighborhoods, counties, states and countries. It cannot be controlled magically, but it must expose wherever it’s found. It must be confronted so that it retreats, because it’s a coward. Each of us can stop this scourge. We must all choose do it (3/4)

In 2008, the US economy crashed due to GOP's toxic agenda and policies. The corrupt GOP refused to life a finger to help President Obama and the Democrats to pull our economy out of the ditch. As the economy took longer to recover, they parlayed the teabaggers
