Every time there's a comment that's anti Semitic, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, misandry, etc, people are in an uproar (rightly so) straight away.
Adidas dropped Kanye West within 48 hrs after his anti Semitic post. Rightly so
But where's the uproar from the people who followed Mermaids and never questioned their motives?
Where's the uproar from the famous people who are into Balenciaga?
The silence from the famous people who supported Mermaids is palpable. And it's also telling.
Even the silence from them in regards to the infamous Balenciaga advert is telling
It seems like they care more about money than the welfare of children. It seems like they care more about fame than the welfare of children.
People have spoken out against Mermaids for a while. It's been on social media so none of them can say they didn't know there were issues. Yet they decided to ignore the red flags.
They turned a blind eye to it all
This is what #nodebate brought us. We weren't allowed to debate about the welfare of children when it came to transition. And that's so wrong.
When it comes to the welfare of anyone vulnerable there should always be a debate whether it's the right course or not
This is why I'm all for therapy for children who are questioning their identity. Not give them puberty blockers and hope for the best!
It's about time we re-evaluate how to help these children. Not by total affirmation. That only leads to more issues. There needs to be the assistance they need and not what they want.
Mermaids and Tavistock and Portman were no longer fit for purpose. They let so many children and young people down. Monumentally.
Psychological ways of helping the children and young people needs a huge overhaul. Total affirmation with no question is not the way to help them
We need to keep speaking up when it comes to children and young people. We need to speak up when it comes to the most vulnerable in society.
We cannot sit back and watch when they're treated wrongly.
So I'm waiting on these famous people to speak up. The ones who followed blindly and said nothing even when it was glaringly obvious there were red flags.
Will we be waiting in vain? Will they just melt into the background hoping we all forget?
That's what it looks like.
Looks like they're hoping we will forget how they followed Mermaids blindly.

We will never forget. Remember that.

Xx

Hands up those who have had apologies for telling the truth about puberty blockers and transing children and lost their jobs for pointing out the truth!
Anyone? Or is it easier to get blood out of a stone than waiting for the apologies?
For every person who stood up for children and against puberty blockers and lost their livelihoods, they deserve at least an apology. They deserve more than that. But an apology to start
For all those companies/organisations that terminated employees for standing up for children, are you going to apologise to them? Or are you going to try and fade into the background for a while in hopes we forget? Guess what? We'll never forget.

I'm sitting in bed with Zena covered in her little blanket, watching a series about the Tudors, and it struck me that I don't care what pronouns are used for me!
Things like that have never bothered me. Never.
I'm just Toni. A trainee psychologist who works with children and adults with limited/different abilities(which I love doing), that happens to be a transsexual!
Again, being transsexual is only a small part of who and what I am. It's not the whole of my life
People around me feel comfortable talking about anything in front of me. Absolutely anything. And it's happened so many times.
And I think it's a privilege that they feel comfortable enough to do that.

In the light of the vote at Hollyrood yesterday regarding letting children at the age of 16 being able to change their birth certificate to their chosen sex without parental consrbty, I would like to point out what it means to do this
It means as soon as you receive your ammended birth certificate, you are no longer, by law, trans.
You are now either male or female. The opposite sex from your birth sex.
It means you can no longer, by law, state that you are trans. Because you've signed a lawful declaration that you have legally "changed sex".

I've decided to go to bed early this evening. Aching all over. Don't know if it's because of the fall I had yesterday or that I am ill with a heavy cold. Or a combination of both.
So I'm lying here watching Frank Herbert's "Children Of Dune" miniseries (for the umpteenth time) and thinking about what the Scottish parliament have done over the last couple of days.
They have pandered to those who are so fragile that they even see "transphobia" in a bottle of almond milk before they pour it into their hand ground coffee every morning (they ground the beans themselves because, you know, "transphobia")!

Took Zena out this morning and the combination of her pulling me and my tripping over my own feet I went flying head first!
Thankfully I didn't bang my head as I had my hands out! Not the most dignified I've ever been!
Three people came over to help me up. One was a middle aged woman who's trying to pick up a 6fr 4 tall 22st transsexual! Bless her heart!

Again I'm seeing "amab/afab" and "born in the wrong body"!

Our sex isn't assigned at birth. It's observed either in utero or after the birth. Gender is assigned to us or we now assign our own gender!
We're not born in the wrong body. None of us are. We still have the same body as we had before transition. The surgery only changes a part of your body. It doesn't take your brain and your soul and pop it into a brand new body!
I wish it was like that! That we can have a new body! As this body is giving up.
It's getting older and older every day.

Our sex has been observed at birth for hundreds of thousands of years. Today in most countries it's observed in utero through scans. It's not assigned
