This video shows some amazing Russian efforts at modernize their war fighting. Apparently, they are trying to move from a WWI style infantry-based army to a Winter War style infantry based army. This will be a generational leap in capabilities.

Russia lost WWI and ended up losing Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltics, Poland and several other areas. Things seem to be headed the same direction in 22. Hence the modernization campaign to Winter War Standards where Russia eventually gained Karelia from Finland. Though to honest

I am not sure the average Russian will be able to tell the difference. I guess I could list out 5 or so differences but given that they can't count since they lost their fingers to frostbite it would be pointless. More seriously though, we see hundreds of men marching in the snow

but they are not in any type of tactical formation. This means they are likely 80km or more behind the lines. Any closer and being that bunched up is an invitation to a HIMARSIKA Celebration. I also do not see any sign of AT weapons, not even RPG tubes. This is not a formation

that expects a fight. This is a gaggle of infantry that has to walk to war in the 21st century. The faces (what I can see of them) appear young so probably not Wagnerites but mobliks. Marching troops long distance in winter is a battle unto itself. So maybe they are not

modernizing after all but looking for even more distant historical models. There was after all an army that marched from Moscow all the way through Ukraine and made it to Poland in 1812. Two of them actually of the 1.2 million troops that started the retreat from Moscow only

about 1 in 3 survived to see Christmas. Losses were much greater for the French with only about 1 in 10 making the journey but the Czar's Army got wrecked as well. with only about 1 in 2 making the trip. So, I think the Napoleonic Model might actually be a better fit than the

War. The hogs, ravens and eagles are going to have a very easy winter. The stench come spring is going to require a whole new fundraiser for Ukraine to provide the clean up details with vicks vapor rub and N-95's to deal with it. The video literally shows men walking to their

deaths. Sadly they will not die alone. They will take some Ukrainians with them either defenders or hapless civilians as they loot, rob and rape. The best way to keep that number down as much as possible is to send more, send better and send now. Thats why I tag @JohnBoozman,

@SenTomCotton, and @RepFrenchHill every day. The Free World must keep supporting Ukraine. We must also do our part. The snow doesn't care. If falls on the invaders, the defenders and the civilians denied heat and electricity by the actions of #RussiaIsATerroristState. Frostbite,

hypothermia, trench foot, respiratory diseases and the flu are all going to add stressors that we can actually do something about. Donating to charities like @MriyaAid, @U24_gov_ua, @LibertyUkraineF, @UkraineAidOps and @3xR_team is a huge part of the puzzle. Ditto donating

directly to units like @georgian_legion and @belwarriors. You might see drives for specific items like IFAKS or warm socks, or just requests for money so the needed items can be sourced locally but the point is to give as you can and feel lead to. When this winter gives way to

spring we want to make sure as many Ukrainians are hale and as many Russian's are not as possible. Thats the brutal calculus of war. I take no joy in Russia losing a generation of men. The only reason to hope so many die is that their deaths will prevent Ukrainian deaths. 100K by
