Short one today its monday, just thought I would share a new level of evil trolling I see is going around the birb ap today. No and a thousands times no. Helping Ukraine does not make us weaker vis a vis China. Three reasons. First much of the stuff we are sending Ukraine is end of shelf life hand me downs. Sending that stuff and replacing it with new build actually makes us stronger. Second, a war

Heck of a past few days for Ukraine supporters. Don't get me wrong Ukraine is still kicking ass and Bahkmut holds but all the other shit being flung around. So lets tackle it head on. First, Zelenskyy said he won't launch the counter offensive until he gets more weapons. And? A lot of people have their undies bunched up over this and the tankies and trolls are of course saying that he is panhandling for arms. But break it down, we know weapons have been promised, but the ones needed to put offensive boots in to Russian butts are either still being

@Princexxxii, I believe I remarked last night on @MriyaReport I was worried about Louisiana and Mississippi. Sadly, I wake up to at least 23 dead. If there is one thing those of us in the South and Midwest can understand about Ukrainians it's the fear. In the South, SPC gives us a convective outlook (posting yesterdays), spotters and chasers move into position, emergency personnel make sure they are ready and eventually the sirens sound. Then hell breaks loose and it is time for rescue and then recovery. In Ukraine it is not much spc.noaa.gov/products/outlo…

So 1 positive so far from the ICC warrant. 17 Ukrainian kids were returned. They bring with them testimony and most importantly hope for those who remain in captivity. It also shows Russia is at least partially responsive to outside pressure. Something we also saw with the grain deal. @ford_nik or another Russian expert would know more but my gut tells me that Russian elites in particular and Russians in general don't like feeling like pariahs.

Sometimes, my essays all but write themselves because you really can't fix stupid. Be warned, this essay is not going where you think it is. Also I appear to be under a search ban, so please RT. Lets begin with some pretty typical Russian stupidity. Anyone see the various problems? He claims they can defeat X tank by hitting it in Y place. Never mind the level of skill required for the shots, if the tubes were not worn out, if it had modern ammunition and a FCS that could mate those together to achieve the required first

So the US is going to deliver older M1A1's now vs M1A2SEPv3 later. Hopefully Ukraine will get both. The MSM is saying M1A1SA but there are 2 SA models. I think they mean Special Armor (FMS model ) and not US M1A1SA (situational awareness). If it is the former, it is the same tank supplied to Iraq and we know that the Kornet can penetrate its side armor. Now don't get me wrong, its still a very well protected tank. Even if the tank is penetrated the ammo being behind blast doors offers a level of crew protection not found on Soviet based designs. However,

The Ukrainian GRU is reporting that they turned a train load of cruise missiles into an engineering problem for Russian railway troops. If true, this not only spares Ukrainian civilians, adds to the occupiers fears, but also put a bottle neck in an already stressed logistics situation for the Russians. It also underscores to Xi, they the horse he bet on is flagging and just about blown. On the flip side the pro-genociders are crowing that after 9 years of on again off again assaults the Russians might finally be on the verge of capturing

Reading history there seems to be a moral aspect to war. Not morality, the laws of war governs that inherently immoral practice. Rather the moral aspect is the level above morale. You can lift anyone's spirits and convince them they are the best before they get punched in the face. Its what they do after that which will decide things. look at some truly heroic but doomed last stands. The Soviet defenders of Sevastopol, the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol. They knew they could not win the fight. They knew survival was unlikely except maybe as a POW,

Yesterday saw a legal bomb go off. The ICC arrest warrants for Putin (head of state) and a midlevel department head for mass kidnappings. Specifically the court cited its authority under 8(2)(a)(vii) and (b)(viii)

Article 8 War Crimes (2) (b) (viii) The transfer, directly or indirectly, by the Occupying Power of parts of its own civilian population into the territory it occupies, or the

So a bit of a painful essay. Yesterday was the anniversary of two different massacres in recent history. @mfa_russia knew this and decided to focus on just one of them. The My Lai killings that may have killed more than 500 people. P E O P L E period full stop. They ignored the Donetsk Regional Academic Drama Theater, the largest air raid shelter in Mariupol. Roughly the same number of people died there as in My Lai. Thats where things diverge. In Vietnam the killings were stopped when Hugh Thompson and his helicopter crew intervened to the point of

Busy day with a lot to talk about. 1. MQ9 video, 2. SU-24 shoot down and 3. A Russian/Belarussian plot to sabotage Poland's rail lines. The easy take away is the war is entering a new phase, at least for Russia. All 3 of them point to Russia fearing a growing (and already large) gap between herself and Ukraine on the material and intelligence front. The MQ9 video is pure desperation.

So an MQ9 Reaper was forced down. Colored me not surprised. The only surprising thing is it has taken this long for Russia to start seeing if NATO had put up new red lines since the invasion of Ukraine. Given that dirty Pool even more than chess or hockey is the Russian national sport perhaps a refresher or perhaps an introduction to those who have not been following Russia's dirty deeds against NATO members. One of the earliest cases of Post- Soviet Russia acting the villain was the 2006 radiation poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko using polonium in the

Can you name the single most dangerous political philosophy in the west? Its not the communists though they want the spot. It's not the overt fascist adjacent like Tinkle, not Trump or anything right of center no matter how far right you go. Nope the single most dangerous philosophy is appeasement. If you want war appease the aggressor. Despite mountains of evidence and centuries of failure somehow the idea you can negotiate with anyone infected with imperial dream of grandeur persists. So a brief rundown. Darius III offered Alexander half his

A quick one today, Monday's start early. I've been seeing reports that Belarussian partisans destroyed/damaged an A-50 Mainstay AWACS aircraft. If true this is really good news. While Russia doesn't have many of them they play a critical role in providing radar coverage. losing one will force the others to either work harder. More hopefully it will create a gap they can't fill with another one and the Russian's will have to pull a squadron of Mig 31's out of the missile strike role to create a flying radar chain. Anything that reduces Russia's

Sorry for the late reply everyone, been arguing with trolls all day who all seem to be making the same flawed argument. On eone hand they want to engage in whataboutism pointing out various US mistakes. But on the other try to claim that what the US did makes what Russia is doing right/permissible and also not a big deal/ none of our business. Has the US done some really shitty things? Yup we sure have. The US has as much relation to perfect as a circle does to a straight line. That being said we are party to numerous treaties that lay out what is

A letter to mt fellow Americans who may think Ukraine is not our fight. You are half right. This is Ukraine's fight to win. Unlike the Afghans who would not fight for their country (yes I know there were other factors at play) Ukraine decided they would fight long before heavy duty American aid showed up. 363 days ago the Russians crossed the border with kill lists and a blind eye to atrocity. As has happened so many times in the past we offered to fly the elites out. We got told exactly where we went wrong. President Zelenskyy's, I need ammunition not

So I thought I would have something serious to talk about today. High speed caravans to the Kremlin, a sperch count down ticker, @POTUS surprise visit to Kyiv.. Nope not even Putin's inner-citcle could stay awake for the mother of all dud speeches. It was pretty much just fanboi bullshit. The only question from the speech is does he believe what he is saying? It's possible he really is that isolated, delusional or both. Once again never

I'm sure you have all seen the Raging Ragers Rally that flopped. Seriously, I saw the pictures and I thought I was looking at an office cookout with all the horseshoes flying around. Supposedly Hard Left and Hard Right tossing a Libertarian back and forth. Daddy Putin didn't send a very big check though. I guess even moving crypto is getting hard for the Russian mobsters in Kleptograd. How the hell are people like Tinkle and Blewthemall supposed to pay their bills if shilling for genocide won't keep the lights on? It's not like they can go back to a

So last night on @MriyaReport during @ChuckPfarrer's Bullet Points some one asked an almost tankie question. Could Russia's spring offensive blow things wide open and turn this thing around. They sounded almost wistful. I put my hand up to respond but ran out of time and lost service before my place in the que came up. It's a valid question given the narrative being pushed by Kleptograd. The answer is always maybe, nothing is impossible but it is highly unlikely. Lets run down the reasons I don't think Russia is going to regain much of the liberated

Its good to see the White Helmets @SyriaCivilDef trending on twitter again. For some of us who have been opposing genocide for years, the White Helmets were often our first introduction to Russian brutality. When Putin and Assad used gas, dropped barrel bombs, tested out the latest Russian kit like FAB's and ballistic missiles it was the White Helmets who had to dig out the survivors. For daring to battle death Putin has labeled them terrorists and actively sought out their locations to get an extra special dose of genocidal murder. If there is

Another late one, oh what a day. Did not get good news IRGT my stepson so no easy outs. Fingers crossed things start to trend up. So if you have any room left after prayers for Ukraine, Turkey, Syria and all the others who are suffering spare some for him please, he's a good kid. I don't really have anything on Ukraine today. Just the daily reminder to @JohnBoozman, @SenTomCotton, and @RepFrenchHill to send more, send better and send now and to push @POTUS to declare Russia a state sponsor of terrorism. Ditto the message to my readers, bonk the tankies
