Historians differ on date of Shahdat of Fatima Zahra (sa).Narrations state that the date is either 75 days or 90 days after the Shahadat of Prophet (s) which occurred on 28th Safar 11 A.H According to Sheikh Abbas Qummi the date would either fall on 13th /14th /15 jmadi Al ala./1

Or 3rd Jamadi al Thani 11A.H.
Ulama have encouraged the observance of the period of 20 days between these two dates dedicated as Ayyame Fatimiya to observing the days of this exalted lady. and rededicate to lead our lives guided by her as a role model./2

We observe the Ayyam to mourn the distressing circumstances surrounding the martyrdom of Lady Fatima Zahra (s.a.) and her son Mohsin Ibn Ali (a.s.) during the attack on her house after the Prophet’s (s) martyrdom.

We consider mourning Lady Fatima Zahra (s.a.) in her Ayyam /3

As Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) informed – There is no greater difficulty for us than the Day of Karbala even though it was like the Day of Saqifah and the burning down the door on Ali – Ameerul Momineen (a.s.) and Fatima (s.a.) and Hasan (a.s.) and Husain (a.s.) and Zainab (s.a.)/4

And Umm Kulsum (s.a.) and Fizza and the killing of Muhassin (Mohsin) (a.s.) with a kick is greater and more bitter because it laid the foundation for the Day (of Ashoora)./5
