This is why I don’t generally live tweet election results. I still think Warnock is going to pull this off. #WarnockforSenate
Guys this is Georgia. It was always going to be close. No one predicted a blowout. Yes their candidate is a disgrace and ours is phenomenal. But the numbers now are much closer to what I was expecting to see from the beginning. Warnock can (and I believe will) still win.
Warnock back in the lead with 68% in
And flipped again with 71% in. Warnock will pull this off. But it’s gonna be a nail-biter thanks to GOP voter suppression and the fact that it’s Georgia. Will keep updating.
Warnock back in the lead with 77% in.
And that’s a wrap. Thanks for playing @HerschelWalker (I’m talking about football, of course). Congratulations @ReverendWarnock!!!!!
.@elonmusk is posting homage’s to Pepe the frog—a hate symbol popularized by Nazis—who would depict Pepe with a Hitler mustache, posing in front of a burning World Trade Center dressed like an Orthodox Jewish person, wearing a Nazi soldier’s uniform or fully donned in a KKK robe.
Way to keep it politically neutral and prevent those negative/hate tweets from being reached by too many people, like some douche canoe with over 110 Million “followers” (still 70% bots, which you are continuing to claim to be fundamentally against). #ElonIsADisgrace
Anyone who thinks white supremacist symbols can “only be seen by people of culture” is a fucking Nazi. And not a subtle one.
Most people seem unfamiliar with how one additional senator in a chamber we already control matters. So let’s talk about the OCEAN that exists between a senate majority in a 50-50 split senate and one with a 51-49 majority, which Democrats now have thanks to the voters of Georgia
1.) COMMITTEES/APPOINTMENTS
In a 50/50 Senate, any tie votes are broken by @VP, while the committees operate under a power-sharing agreement and are evenly split. So the Judiciary Committee, for example, which considers all judicial nominations, has 11 senators from each party.
Now that Warnock was reelected, Democrats completely organize the senate and have majorities on ALL COMMITTEES. What does this mean? A. Dems can afford a dissenter among their ranks without sinking every nomination, meaning judges and administrative posts confirmed more easily
What’s the only thing that would be more devastating to R’s “Investigate Hunter” B.S. than the GOP-controlled House and Senate never investigating him or Burisma back in 2015? Two GOP Senate Committees investigating it and finding NOTHING. Turns out, that’s EXACTLY what happened.
The U.S. Senate Committees on Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs/Finance Majority Staff released a report detailing their “investigation” and its “findings” in 2015. They essentially conclude that no laws were broken but it was super awkward having the VPs son on the board.
This is the same party that would just 2 years later vocalize absolutely zero opposition, call for zero investigation, and do/say nothing in response to their President having his own daughter sitting in for him at the UN and his son-in-law in charge of peace in the Middle East.
Republican Herschel Walker’s entire party supports ending THE U.S. CONSTITUTION, RULE OF LAW, AND DEMOCRACY. Vote for @ReverendWarnock!
This @GOP ‘Cash bail’ talking point is so dumb its embarrassing. They go out of their way to make it sound like Democrats are for “turning all the criminals loose!” except MINOR DETAIL: people in detention pending bail HAVE NOT BEEN CONVICTED OF (nor even CHARGED WITH) A CRIME
One of the ways the criminal justice system in America targets the poor is the cash bail system, and right now nearly half of all people sitting in jail are among those who simply cannot afford to pay bail. Democrats simply support reforming this system while Republicans don’t.
BREAKING: 11th circuit just ruled that Judge Aileen Cannon's order appointing a special master and blocking the government from using classified docs recovered from MAL in their investigations was incorrect. The order has been VACATED with instructions to DISMISS THE ENTIRE CASE!
This is fucking amazing
And for MAGA screaming about “liberal activist judges” on the 11th Circuit, this was a panel of three judges, all Republican-appointed. One appointed by George W. Bush. The other two by, wait for it, yep you guessed it, Donald Trump himself.
BREAKING: The senate voted to avoid a rail strike that would have begun on December 9th, but didn’t approve a single day of paid sick leave for rail workers thanks to the filibuster and 42 Republicans and Joe Manchin voting against it. Republicans continue to screw over Americans
This is a good explainer of how the senate is a fundamentally undemocratic institution that serves to entrench GOP minority rule and deny the majority of Americans adequate representation:
And let’s talk about the 60-vote filibuster requirement threshold introduced by Senate Republicans that Democrats need 52 senators to undo (so even if Warnock wins the runoff in Georgia on December 6th, we will still be one vote short of being able to do this);
