An update for December 6th, kinda short. First, I see many sources saying Russia's main line is set up 2km south of Kreminna, and that Ukraine has cleared the forested area north of Kreminna. So I have updated the map thusly.
There was a significant attack by Russia on Bilohorivka today. They made a legitimate attempt to break through the defenses. From what I understand, it failed. I know the first wave failed completely, but I've heard very little about the second wave.
I've updated the Russian area of control around Bakhmut. This doesn't really represent a change in the situation, moreso a clarification. But Russia is advancing slowly.
There was massive shelling of the Novomykhailivka area.
Ukraine has reported shelling in Bilohrudove for several days in a row, I've marked it contested.
Last night Russia launched a wave of Shahed drones. I don't know how many they fired, or really what the targets were. There were reports of drones near Kyiv (not in Kyiv, south west of the city).
And Ukraine reports that they shot down 8 somewhere in Dnipropetrovs'k, presumably near Kryvyi Rih or Dnipro. Ukraine reports they shot down 14 drones total. I have no idea if there was damage, or where the damage was or what the targets were.

The situation for Ukraine in Bakhmut is pretty bad and getting worse. I said a few days ago that some things would change as a result of a change in strategy, and the lost ground to the south east of Bakhmut is an example of this. Ukraine has lost several key defensive positions.
Which is not great, obviously, but at the same time it was expected and more or less planned for and around. I actually expected more areas of the line to collapse, so this current outcome is better than I expected. Which is to say very bad, but not catastrophic.
The main crossroad to the south east of the city is lost, as is the garbage dump. There is heavy fighting near the garbage dump now. Wagner will likely base themselves out of the garbage dump for the foreseeable future. Which is fitting.
Ukraine shot drones into two Russian airbases and damaged several strategic bombers, which made Russia big sad. Confirmed Russian losses are 3 men, 1 truck, and 1 damaged bomber. Unconfirmed reports indicate possibly 2 to 4 destroyed bombers, and 3 to 6 more damaged.
Russia only has around 50 of these bombers, and with their rage, they fired more than 70 missiles into Ukraine from various platforms. Including 60 Kh-101, Kh-505, and Kalibr missiles and 10 Kh-22, Kh-59, and Kh-31P missiles. As well as many S-300 missiles.
The Russians actually have the gall to complain that their bombers got bombed. Imagine being that detached from reality. You probably can‘t imagine it because you don’t drink a gallon of lead for breakfast every morning, but you can try to imagine.
Imagine being dumb enough to type something this stupid.
I am not sure whether Russia "captured" Novoselivka or not, but it is irrelevant either way. The town no longer exists. It cant be used as a defensive position. Its basically just a pile of ruined houses. The area around the town is what matters.
I have the town in blue because that is what my most recent information is. Russians claim they pushed in. I see no real evidence. Maybe they did, it wouldn't surprise me. Ukraine controls the area along the train tracks to the north.
Russia controls that road intersection to the south of the town, and the forest strips on the opposite side of the train tracks along with Kuzemivka.
