1/a few *Yesterday, I had two conversations about the threat of swifts, or any species, becoming nationally extinct: one with a politician, the other with a school pupil. #COP15 thread
2/a few
One reacted by saying they thought it unlikely the government would help swifts because it would set a pretence to help the 69 other species of British birds on the red list. A list defined by the need for ‘urgent action.’ #COP15

The other said, 'It sounds like a nightmare. How can I help? What can I do?’
One has the power to stop it. One doesn't. One will have to live with the consequences of the choices made by the other.
