NEW: After 11 weeks of strike action, more than 750 workers at the Jacobs Cream Crackers factory in Ainstree have won an improved pay offer. @GMB_union has now called off industrial action.
The workers cited ‘unbelievable’ support from members of the public. ‘The people of Liverpool come together when needed. From the lorries and bus drivers going past to the locals bringing us food and wood for the fire, the support has been incredible.’

It's a 6.5% pay rise year 1 (backdated to 1st Jan 2022) and a one-off £500 payment. Year 2 is an additional 3% and a one-off £250 payment.
Jacob's has a history of industrial struggle. In 1911, Rosie Hackett helped to organise the withdrawal of women’s labour at Jacob's in support of male colleagues, leading to better pay and conditions. 2 weeks later, at the age of 18, she co-founded the Irish Women Worker’s Union.

🚨@RMTunion say the Rail Delivery group's attempts to resolve the dispute by making a revised and improved offer have been blocked by the Government.

No revised offer has put on the table during negotiations. Planned industrial action will go ahead as scheduled.

🚨 NEW: Border Force guards in England, Scotland and Wales are to take six days’ strike action over Christmas.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services (@pcs_union) union employed by the Home Office in passport booths will take action at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow airports, and the port of Newhaven on December 23, 24, 25, 28, 29 & 30.
The strike comes after 100,000 @pcs_union members in 214 government departments and other public bodies voted to take strike action over a 10% pay rise, pensions justice, job security and no cuts to redundancy terms.

NEW: Outsourced cleaners will protest outside the Department for Transport at 3pm today, calling on the Secretary of State to end the scandal of poverty pay. @RMTunion is calling on Mark Harper to give a mandate to train operators to end the scandal of outsourcing.
Cleaners working on 10 outsourced contracts around the UK rail network recently voted to take strike action in pursuit of £15 an hour, company sick pay and decent pensions. The cleaners will be taking strike action on 22, 23 and 31 December.

Paramedics, Emergency Care Assistants, call handlers and other staff will walk out in the following Ambulance Services:

Workers across the ambulance services and some NHS Trusts have voted to strike over the Government’s imposed 4% pay award - effectively a real-terms pay cut. @GMB_union representatives will now meet with individual trusts to discuss requirements for life and limb cover.

🚨BREAKING: @RMTunion announces further train strikes will take place from 6pm on Christmas Eve to 6am on 27 December. All strike action planned for December 13,14, 16 and 17 will go ahead too.
