I've been spending some time every day reflecting on an idea from Indian philosophy. I used digital poster-making as a tool for thinking. Here they are.

Grateful to @StudioCarreras/@Domestika for inspiration. And to @krayker, @msharmas & @sriramvasan

The slow food movement is an antidote to the cult of speed that Zomato’s 10-minute delivery is pushing.

Here are some highlights from In Praise of Slow, a brilliant book by Carl Honoré.

🧵

"Food, like everything else, has been hijacked by haste."

/1
"Today, most meals are little more than refuelling pit stops."

/2
"As life got faster, people rushed to replicate the convenience of fast food at home."

Interesting how Zomato plans to pull this off. Quite different from how Uber tried doing it in NYC a few years ago.

My favorite books on systems thinking.
Thinking in Systems: A Primer by Donella Meadows
A simple and clear introduction. My favorite chapters are 4, 5, 6 & 7. And also the first three chapters. Okay, that's the entire book.

Systems Thinking For Social Change by @davidpeterstroh
Written for practitioners, based on Stroh's long experience working with organisations trying to solve tough problems. Has great examples. There's much to learn from the way he tells systems stories.

📚 These are the books I keep going to whenever I feel I should get better at writing.

What are your favorite books? Please do share.
Writing Tools: 55 Essential Strategies for Every Writer by @RoyPeterClark
Super practical, with each chapter ending with a 'workshop'. They are really tools that we can use straightaway and see our writing improve.

The Art and Craft of Feature Writing by William E. Blundell

Blundell holds your hand and takes you through the entire feature writing process, step by step. Chain of cause & effect (ch 2) & six-part guide (ch 4) will never go out of use.

Entertaining, thought provoking, and uplifting. Image
22's character arc reminded me of a beautiful song by Bharatiyar

From:
நிற்பதுவே, நடப்பதுவே, பறப்பதுவே, நீங்களெல்லாம்
சொற்பனந் தானோ?-பல தோற்ற மயக்கங்களோ?

To:
காண்பதுவே உறுதிகண்டோம் காண்பதல்லால் உறுதில்லை
காண்பது சக்தியாம்-இந்தக் காட்சி நித்தியமாம். Image
Second thoughts. In #PixarSoul, 22's story is the Buddha story in reverse.
