Announcing the winner of the Advent Giveaway 2022 at about 8pm CT, after the Rosary, stay tuned to my profile page or the blog for that. :)
And now a time of reflection in preparation for praying the Rosary.
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
St. Juan Diego, pray for us!
We must endure many trials before entering God’s kingdom.
See Acts 14:21-22.
Lord Jesus Christ, you have prepared a quiet place for us in your Father’s eternal home. Watch over our welfare on this perilous journey, shade us from the burning heat of day, and keep our lives free of evil until the end.
In the Lord’s eyes, one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years are as a day. The Lord does not delay in keeping his promise, though some consider it “delay.” Rather, he shows you generous patience, since he wants none to perish but all to come to repentance.
The Lord delayeth not his promise, as some imagine, but dealeth patiently for your sake, not willing that any should perish, but that all should return to penance.
2 Peter 3:8-9 Douay-Rheins Bible
Come and set us free, Lord God of power and might.
— Come and set us free, Lord God of power and might.
Let your face shine upon us and we shall be saved,
— Lord God of power and might.
Glory to …
— Come and set us free, Lord God of power and might.
And Mary said:
My soul exalts the Lord…
The Magnificat, Luke 1:46-55, Douay-Rheims Bible
Some intentions follow. Feel free to add your own to the thread, too.
Please keep all members of our Twitter family in your prayers. (There are so many & I feel like I leave out too many each week.) Please pray for them (us) all!
- For my B-I-L John, recovered from Covid (TY for prayers!) but now ill with what may be a bad head cold. Oy!
- For the repose of the soul of Tim from @Ectobass’s parish.
Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
- For a dear friend of a dear friend, C is seriously in need of prayer.
For all the prayer requests I saw today, lots, that I can’t possibly fit on this thread. Lord, you know who they are. Our hearts go out to all of them, everyone in need, everyone who is suffering. In Your mercy, bring them healing, You know what they need, Divine Physician. Amen!
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
St. Juan Diego, pray for us!
The Rosary proper begins at the top of the hour. I hope you’ll join me. Add your intentions anywhere along the thread if you are moved to do so. God bless you!
In the Name of the Father,
and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
St. Juan Diego, pray for us!
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, you have deigned to come to Fatima to reveal to the three shepherd children there the treasures of grace hidden…
(There’s a place in this prayer for your personal prayer intention.)
Adding an intention here, my best friend's father had surgery. Please keep him in your prayers.
(For those who don’t believe, we pray…)
I believe in God,
the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ,
His only Son, our Lord…
For the Holy Father
Our Father Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us…
For an increase of Faith, Hope, & Charity in our souls & our world
Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
& blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us now
& at the hour of our death.
(Glory be, here and at the end of each decade.)
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
The USCCB has asked us to fast and pray with special intentions for the Rosary. (Originally for May 13th, but I’m keeping it in our Rosary & the one on my blog, too).
O my Jesus,
forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell,
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those in most need of Thy Mercy.

Note: this is not to deny the penitential character of the day or of the season, but because perhaps we could all use some joy, yes? We can meditate on the Joyful Mysteries & still remember our penance. I often cry during the Joyful Mysteries anyway. Do you?
Speaking of meditating, I'll be announcing the winner of the Advent Giveaway 2022 after the Rosary tonight. Not right after it, but about 8pm CT. So stick around, stay tuned, check back for that. :)
