Why Too Many EGGS May Be Shortening Your Life (HINT: It's NOT The Cholesterol!)

Eggs are a fave food in Twitter-land, w ppl claiming they're 1 of the healthiest foods

If you're open-minded, you need to see this research

Then ask why you've never seen it before

/ thread /

👇
First, if you aren't familiar with the worldwide epidemic of "vitamin" A toxicity, see thread below

How might eggs, specifically egg YOLKS, play into this?

Egg yolks contain:
- animal "vit" A as retinol & retinyl esters
- plant "vit" A carotenoids lutein & zeaxanthin

👇
Eggs have been shown to greatly ⬆️ absorption of "vit" A:

"co-consumption of 150 g (3 eggs) cooked whole eggs ⬆️ the absorption of carotenoids from a carotenoid-rich, raw, mixed-vegetable salad by ***3- to 8-fold***"

Seems significant

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
Why do eggs ⬆️ absorption of "vit" A so much?

Egg yolks are the HIGHEST choline source--as lysophosphatidylcholine--in typical diets

"lysoPC not only ⬆️ [beta-carotene] accumulation but also ⬆️ cleavage of intestinally absorbed beta-carotene into vit A"

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16261992/
Lecithin, aka phosphatidylcholine, is necessary to store "vit" A as retinyl esters in the liver via the LRAT enzyme:

"Retinyl ester synthesis in the liver is dependent on the enzyme lecithin:retinol acyltransferase [LRAT]"

researchgate.net/publication/76…
Short recap:
- Eggs contain plant & animal "vit" A
- Eggs ⬆️ "vit" A absorption 3-8x
- Eggs contain lysophosphatidylcholine (lysoPC)
- LysoPC ⬆️ "vit" A absorption
- LysoPC helps store "vit" A in the liver

IF there was a "vit" A toxicity epidemic, eggs would NOT be helpful!
Nutrition goo-roos: "But eggs are high in NOOOtrients! That negates EVERYTHING bad!"

This is NOT true

A concept I go by: "The poison always wins"

"vit" A is fat-soluble & accumulates

As more toxicity is accumulated, no amount of nutrients can save you

Poison wins in the end
We're now going to cover research no one ever told you about

I DON'T CARE if the papers mention CHOLESTEROL, it's irrelevant here

We'll cover:
- Egg intake and diseases
- Choline intake, serum choline, & diseases
- The acetylcholine connection
- The cholinesterase connection
An FYI before we start connecting egg (yolks) & diseases

The Japanese consume the most eggs per capita in the world

19.9kg of eggs consumed per person per yr in 2019
1 egg = 49grams
~406 eggs per year

That's just ONE (~1.1) egg per day on avg

Not a lot

Let's begin
EGGS, FATTY LIVER #1, USA

"there was significant positive linear relationship between FLI [fatty liver index], AST, & ALT w egg consumption & participants in highest tertile (T3) of egg consumption had 11% ⬆️ chance of NAFLD compared w T1 [lowest]"

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32928581/
EGGS, FATTY LIVER #2, IRAN

"participants who consumed 2-3 eggs/wk, were 3.56x more likely to have NAFLD [non-alcoholic fatty liver disease] in comparison to those who consumed less than 2 eggs/week..."

That's not good
"Adjustment for known risk factors of NAFLD strengthened this significant assoc so that individuals who have consumed 2-3 eggs/wk had 3.71x ⬆️ risk of NAFLD than those who have eaten less than 2 eggs/wk..."

That's even worse
"Our data indicate that higher egg consumption in common amount of usage is associated with higher risk of NAFLD"

Their common usage = 2-3 eggs/week

Twitter nutrition goo-roos doing 40+ a week

This is just the beginning, stick w me

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
Can we connect "vit" A & fatty liver?

"NAFLD leads to...rearrangements in retinol metabolism leading to *vit A accumulation in hepatocytes [liver cells]*"

All yellow:
- egg yolk
- "vit" A
- phosphatidylcholine, img
- fatty liver, img

Weird coincidence!

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… Yellow Lecithin AKA PhosphatidylcholineYellow Fatty Liver AKA Steatosis
EGGS, FOOD ALLERGY

"After cow’s milk, hen’s egg allergy is 2nd most common food allergy in infants & young children"

Dairy & eggs = high "vit" A

What if it is a toxicity reaction?

Thread connecting "vit" A & allergies coming soon, it's SO obvious

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
EGGS, ECZEMA

"Food allergy & atopic eczema (AE) may occur in the same patient...it is clear that foods, such as cow's milk & hen's eggs, can directly provoke flares of AE, particularly in sensitized infants"

Does sensitized mean "vit" A toxic?

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17573718/
EGGS, METABOLIC SYNDROME (PRE-DIABETES), CHINA

"Consumption of >1 egg/day & >1/2 fried egg/day was assoc w a ⬆️ prevalence of MetS [metabolic syndrome aka pre-diabetes] than consumption of ≤1/2 egg/day & ≤1/7 fried egg/day"

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34506988/
EGGS, DIABETES #1, USA

"In a meta-analysis, frequent egg consumption was associated with a higher risk of type 2 diabetes in US studies"

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
EGGS, DIABETES #2, USA

"In pooled multivariable model adjusted for updated BMI, lifestyle, and dietary confounders, ***a 1-egg/day increase was associated with a 14% higher T2D [type 2 diabetes] risk***"

Ouch

Keep eggs & ⬆️ diabetes in mind as we go

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32453379/
EGGS, TMAO, USA

"consumption of eggs was assoc w ⬆️ plasma & urine TMAO conc's, w ∼14% of total choline in eggs having been converted to TMAO"

TMAO (trimethylamine N-oxide) is considered a **heart/cardiovascular disease risk factor**, this is important

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
EGGS, HEART DISEASE, MORTALITY [DEATH], USA

" ⬆️ consumption of dietary cholesterol or eggs was significantly assoc w ⬆️ risk of incident CVD [cardiovascular disease] & all-cause mortality in a dose-response manner"

More eggs, more heart disease

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
EGGS, HEART FAILURE, SWEDEN

"daily egg consumption (≥1 egg/day) was associated with a 30% higher risk of heart failure"

Seems significant

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26399866/
EGGS, DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, USA

"higher egg consumption appeared to be assoc w ⬆️ risk of CHD [coronary heart disease] only among diabetic subjects..."

Eggs ⬆️ risk of diabetes first (see previous), then eggs ⬆️ risk of heart disease in diabetics

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10217054/
EGGS, DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, USA

"among diabetics, consumption of greater than 6 eggs/wk was associated with an ⬆️ risk of coronary artery disease"

Eggs ⬆️ risk of diabetes 1st (see previous), then eggs ⬆️ risk of heart disease in diabetics

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17179903/
EGGS, DIABETES, HEART DISEASE

"...egg consumption were assoc w ⬆️ CVD risk among older, community-dwelling adults w type 2 diabetes"

Older = more time to accumulate toxicity...

"The poison always wins"...are you catching on yet?

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20338738/
EGGS, DIABETES, MORTALITY [DEATH], GREECE

"Amongst confirmed diabetic persons...⬆️ consumption of eggs...is associated with significant ⬆️ of mortality"

Eggs ⬆️ risk of diabetes first (see previous), then eggs ⬆️ risk of death in diabetics

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16704559/
EGGS, DIABETES, MORTALITY [DEATH], USA

"among diabetic subjects, in whom the risk of death in a comparison of the highest w lowest category of egg consumption was 2x"

Eggs ⬆️ risk of diabetes first (see previous), then eggs ⬆️ risk of death in diabetics

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
EGGS, CANCER

"consuming ≥ 5 eggs/week was significantly assoc w an ⬆️ risk of breast cancer compared w no egg consumption
...
a positive association bw egg intake & ovarian & fatal prostate cancers cannot be ruled out"

Cancer = accumulated toxicity

cambridge.org/core/journals/…
EGGS, TOTAL & CANCER MORTALITY [DEATH], JAPAN

"egg intake was directly assoc w total & cancer mortality, & that cancer mortality in the 1-2 eggs/week group was significantly less than that in the 1 egg/day [7 eggs/week] group"

Wow

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29288244/
EGG YOLKS VS EGG WHITES, MORTALITY [DEATH], USA

"Whole egg...intakes were positively assoc w risk of all-cause & major cause-specific mortality, whereas egg white/substitute consumption was inversely assoc w mortality"

The problem is the YOLKS, folks!

journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/a…
On to choline

Before exploring choline's relationship to disease, let's establish the egg-choline connection

"Rats were fed lecithins, derived from eggs...Each form of dietary lecithin ⬆️ blood choline, brain choline & brain acetylcholine significantly"

researchgate.net/publication/16…
"Dietary choline appears to be more bioavailable via egg consumption when compared to a choline supplement"
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29764315/

"**Plasma choline was predicted by egg consumption**"
pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19064529/

That last one is SO important in connecting eggs, choline, & disease
CHOLINE INTAKE, DIABETES, HEART DISEASE, MORTALITY, US BLACKS, US WHITES, CHINESE

"After comprehensive adjustments...total choline intake was assoc w ⬆️ cardiometabolic mortality among blacks & Chinese; among whites, the assoc was weaker..."
"Total choline intake was also assoc w diabetes & all-cause mortality in blacks, w diabetes mortality in Chinese, & w IHD [ischemic heart disease] mortality in whites."

Eggs are the HIGHEST choline-containing food

More weird coincidences

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
I simply could not leave out this one line from the previous study

"High choline intake was associated with increased cardiometabolic mortality in racially diverse populations"

😂

HIGH CHOLINE INTAKE...an equal opportunity Grim Reaper Choline Grim Reaper
SERUM CHOLINE, PROSTATE CANCER, SWEDEN

"The results of this large prospective study suggest that ⬆️ plasma concentrations of choline...may be assoc w an ⬆️ risk of prostate cancer"

Remember from previous, plasma choline was PREDICTED by egg intake!

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19423531/
SERUM CHOLINE, COLORECTAL CANCER, USA

"Higher serum choline conc...was assoc w ⬆️ risk of colorectal cancer"

Serum is just plasma minus clotting factors

Very connected

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…
SERUM CHOLINE, HYPERTENSION, MORTALITY, CHINA

"median serum choline concentration for [hypertension] cases (9.51 μg/mL) was higher than that in controls (7.80 μg/mL)..."

So people w high blood pressure have higher-than-healthy-controls serum choline?

Interesting!
"...there was a positive relation between serum choline levels and all-cause mortality risk. There was an ⬆️ all-cause mortality risk for participants in quartiles 2-4 compared with quartile 1"

Higher serum choline, ⬆️ risk of death from all causes

Oof

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/p…
Eggs & choline overlap on diseases

The peanut gallery yells, "what about acetylcholine, huh???"

Acetylcholine (ACh) is a neurotransmitter

Previous slide showed eggs ACh

What does ACh do to bile flow?

PRO TIP: Screwing up bile flow is VERY BAD for health long-term
ACETYLCHOLINE & BILE #1

"ACh added into perfusion medium altered bile flow in a way analogous to mechanical clamping
...
results suggest that ACh can...cause an obstruction in the biliary tree"

Block bile flow➡️bile ducts burst➡️bile leaks➡️BAD NEWS

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/962438/
ACETYLCHOLINE & BILE #2

"It is concluded that biliary epithelial cells express muscarinic acetylcholine (ACh) receptors. Stimulation of this receptor leads to cholestasis"

ACh in bile causes cholestasis aka toxic bile leakage into the blood

BAD NEWS

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/9096580/
SERUM CHOLINESTERASE & MORTALITY, JAPAN

What is cholinesterase?

Cholinesterase hydrolyzes (BREAKS DOWN) acetylcholine & other choline esters

If there was too much acetylcholine, it makes sense that the body would ⬆️ cholinesterase, correct?

Higher cholinesterase = ? 👇
"serum ChE level was an independent predictor of all-cause mortality"

⬆️ cholinesterase, ⬆️ risk of death

ACh in bile = toxic bile leakage

⬆️ eggs = ⬆️ choline = ⬆️ ACh = ⬆️ cholinesterase = earlier DEATH

Hopefully the patterns are becoming evident

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34923486/
Let's start to wrap this up

What patterns have we seen here connected w ⬆️ eggs?
- Fatty liver
- Food allergy
- Eczema
- Metabolic syndrome (pre-diabetes)
- Type 2 diabetes
- Heart failure
- Heart disease
- Cancer
- Death
What patterns have we connected to ⬆️ choline intake &/or choline levels?
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Cancer
- Death

⬆️ ACh in bile caused cholestasis / toxic bile leakage

⬆️ cholinesterase levels were associated w ⬆️ risk of death

What can be done?
Understand that I'm not saying to "avoid all choline". Heck, your body makes it

What I am saying is that the combo in eggs of choline + "vit" A is REALLY not good to overdo

I also don't think one should purposely ⬆️ choline intake, or take choline or lecithin supplements

Actionable approaches you could try include:
- Don't eat eggs every day
- ⬇️ yolks to a minimum (it's easy to cut out 1/2 the yolks when making scrambled eggs)
- Eliminate yolks & just do egg whites
- Ditch eggs entirely

I eat egg whites (w a steak) at a breakfast meeting 1x/wk
You might be mad at me for bringing this to your attention

That's OK, I can handle that...the truth can hurt

What I don't like is that this significant research has been IGNORED...why is that?

Why Tattoos Make People Sick & Send Them To Early Graves

Most people haven't looked into the research on tattoos

I have. It's ugly. Real ugly

Do what you choose to do, I just provide information

Hopefully you'll reconsider getting any (more) done after this
/ thread /

👇
In this thread, we will cover:
- Diseases & health issues assoc w tattoos
- Earlier deaths assoc w tattoos
- Stats on how many ppl are getting tattooed
- Stats on how most ppl perceive tattoos & the tattooed
- Ways tattoos may be addictive
- Known toxicity of tattoo inks
Most tattoo consumers only consider how much it will hurt, what design they want, and who will be tattooing them

The next level folks might weigh the possible risks of infection and how safe/clean the environment is

Very few look into toxicity of the inks or long-term issues

WHY Sunning Your Balls Raises Your Testosterone & Mood

HINT: It's not what you think, it's not magick or woo, it's SCIENCE

Join me as I explain what is destroying your balls, bros

And how sunlight and/or UV-B light on your balls shuts down this destructive process

/ thread /
First, the main study that all of this is based on:

Small study, only 5 ppl

UV lamp (NOT sun!) was applied to the either the chest or genital region of men for ⬆️ amt of time (up to 20 min) across consecutive days (up to 5)

tahomaclinic.com/Private/Articl…
So what happened?

"After 5 irradiations of the *chest*, the hormone output [androsterone] was ⬆️ to 155 i.u./L, that is, an ⬆️ of 120%"

"After 5 irradiations [of the *genitals*] during 6 days, the androsterone excretion was ⬆️ from 70 to 205 i.u./L, nearly 200%"

Not bad

The Worldwide "vitamin" A Toxicity Epidemic: What I Learned By Looking At Gold-Standard *Liver Biopsy* Studies

Bold statement, right?

Yes, it's happening. Yes, I'll show research

No, it does NOT show up in blood tests

It shows up in the liver itself

/ thread / 👇
Things I'll cover today:
- Past warnings about the "vit" A toxicity epidemic they feared was coming
- How liver biopsy is the "gold standard" test for "vit" A toxicity
- Evidence of a *worldwide* epidemic of "vit" A toxicity, shown via liver biopsies, since the 1950s!
An early reminder for those who need it

There is absolutely NO difference in TOXICITY between NATURAL & SYNTHETIC forms of "vitamin" A when the same FORMS & DOSAGES are used in humans & animals

They all get metabolized, stored, & detoxed the same ways

Becoming less toxic makes one healthier AND weight loss easier

Losing toxic bodyfat quickly dumps those fat-stored toxins into the bloodstream, causing damaged while they get RE-stored!

Thread w the research 👇
"Once sequestered in adipose [bodyfat],

toxicants are not released until lipolysis [fat breakdown] occurs,

often through weight loss, diet, & exercise..."
"It has been well documented that throughout episodes of fasting or weight loss, AT [adipose tissue aka bodyfat] serves as a source of PCBs [toxic "forever chemical"] due to lipid mobilization..."

Storing toxins in fat...don't believe anyone who says the body doesn't do this

Here's what we'll cover, via research:
- carrots ⬇️ night vision
- "vit" A toxicity in animals & humans from carrots & ⬆️ beta-carotene
- carrots are addictive like tobacco/nicotine
- death by carrot juice & "vit" A
- carrots & poor teeth
- orange carrots aren't "paleo"
