A pic from @Harvard’s website. Just look at it…flimsy mask over full beard, promoting a bivalent booster mandate that won’t stop transmission but is “likely to cause a net clinical harm to young adults.”
Why? Well @Harvard claims it’s necessary to mandate the bivalent booster (just students, not older staff!) in order to “enable in-person learning.” That’s absurd. Thousands of other colleges across the country somehow manage to maintain full, in-person classes w/o this mandate.
Other countries no longer offer it to healthy people in this age group. A judge ruled the NYC employee mandate was unconstitutional. Even the military is ending the mandate. These nonsensical and potentially harmful mandates need to end immediately! #EndCollegeMandates@Harvard
Are you a @harvard alum? TELL THEM you oppose these unscientific vaccine and booster mandates. STOP DONATING and demand they end this coercion. WRITE to them. SHARE the research paper I linked up there.
It’s discouraging to see that this list hasn’t budged since I last posted a month ago. But I’ve updated my graphic here to show the full snapshot.
Keep fighting! College 💉 mandates are coercive, reckless, & completely unnecessary.
Colleges requiring all students to get the bivalent booster as of 12/12/22:
Notre Dame
UCs/CSUs
Harvey Mudd
Pitzer
U of Denver
Yale
Hampshire
Harvard
Smith
Tufts
Wellesley
Goucher
Carleton
Macalester
St Olaf
Fordham
Kenyon
Wooster
Champlain
Whitman
This list doesn’t include hundreds of colleges STILL requiring a single booster (which now = bivalent by default in prev unboosted students) + hundreds STILL mandating original monovalent vax. There’s no clinical evidence to support mandating these shots in college students.
“You can’t really call most of these deaths and near-deaths overdoses […] these are unwitting self-poisonings. The victims didn’t sign up for fetanyl.”
> We need to remove the stigma of drug ODs/fentanyl poisoning. It can happen to anyone, not just “addicts.” One pill can kill!
In 2021, @CDCgov reported, “107,375 people in the U.S. died of drug overdose or drug poisoning. Sixty-seven percent, or 71,000 of the deaths, were caused by fentanyl or other synthetic opioids.”
> The crisis is rapidly escalating. The drug supply is becoming more + more lethal.
A year ago I was bracing for the launch of our county vax verification requirement. Such a terrible feeling…to know that in just a matter of days I’d be banned from public spaces, cast out, deemed unclean.
Why? To make safer spaces, they said. They were wrong.
My story 🧵>
I have legitimate contraindications to vax - it’s frankly none of your business. But that shouldn’t even matter. NOBODY should be banned from society based on their own medical choices.
Yet my county intentionally pushed out a punitive policy knowing it would harm so many.

There were no medical exemptions. Sure you could drive to a PCR site and idle in your car for an hour or more to get tested every few days. As if that’s a reasonable burden?
A glaring equity failure to only allow the privileged, abled, and time-wealthy to access society.
There are three colleges in the US currently mandating the bivalent booster for ALL students *without* requiring the same dose for older, higher risk staff members.

Smith College

What kind of twisted science justifies coercing young healthy students into getting a 4th shot (w/known risks for this age) without requiring the same of the older, anxious staff/admin they are supposedly protecting?
And over 250 other colleges are still mandating at least one booster for all students and staff.
What is the rational and humane logic for forcing anyone to get a shot that barely 4% of eligible adults have chosen to freely get themselves? None. It’s cruel coercion.
Stepping up onto my fentanyl soap box for a moment, so please bear with me. It’s important.🧵
It’s that time of year when “the news” blasts scary warnings of kids finding packets of rainbow fentanyl in their trick-or-treat buckets. That obviously won’t happen. Nobody…

…is handing out fentanyl to kids at the front door. But this hysterical newsy hyperbole ends up minimizing the *very real* risks of fentanyl poisoning. Yes, even to kids. And even on Halloween.

It was a couple years ago that I really started to glimpse the horror of the fentanyl crisis. I had naively assumed that it only affected drug addicts. I was wrong.
It’s not just an addiction problem. It’s a poison problem.
