🔥Pfizer issued a press release Friday afternoon stating definitively that mRNA covid vaccines “show increased risks” of myocarditis + pericarditis.

Highest risk = adolescent males.

It’s INEXCUSABLE that 1000s of college kids are STILL forced to get a shot w/these known risks. Image Source:

🧵 U Michigan Ann Arbor just announced all students living on campus Fall 23 must show proof of bivalent booster by May 15th.

Even if they’ve already gotten the original booster.

Even if they’ve already had covid.

Excuse me but…
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING @UMich?!?

1/> We know vax and boosters don’t stop the spread.

We know students are at very low risk of severe disease or complications.

We know most students have immunity from previous infection.

We know most adults, when allowed to choose freely, ARE NOT GETTING THE BIVALENT BOOSTER.

If a single sea turtle in CA choked on a plastic straw we’d be bombarded with hyperbolic headlines for weeks.

Yet *actual humans* have been breathing in this giant plume of toxic polyvinyl chloride for over a week in Ohio and…barely any news coverage? #OhioChernobyl ImageImage For more info, check out this thread from @JenWEsq👇

:: UPDATE ⚠️ College Bivalent Mandate ::

It’s discouraging to see that this list hasn’t budged since I last posted a month ago. But I’ve updated my graphic here to show the full snapshot.

Keep fighting! College 💉 mandates are coercive, reckless, & completely unnecessary. Colleges requiring all students to get the bivalent booster as of 12/12/22:

Notre Dame
UCs/CSUs
Harvey Mudd
Pitzer
U of Denver
Yale
Hampshire
Harvard
Smith
Tufts
Wellesley
Goucher
Carleton
Macalester
St Olaf
Fordham
Kenyon
Wooster
Champlain
Whitman

A pic from @Harvard’s website. Just look at it…flimsy mask over full beard, promoting a bivalent booster mandate that won’t stop transmission but is “likely to cause a net clinical harm to young adults.”

This isn’t science-based. All for show, w/real risks. #EndCollegeMandates Why? Well @Harvard claims it’s necessary to mandate the bivalent booster (just students, not older staff!) in order to “enable in-person learning.” That’s absurd. Thousands of other colleges across the country somehow manage to maintain full, in-person classes w/o this mandate.

We’ve now heard from Fauci
His statement deposed
Into hundreds of pages
All freshly exposed

He evaded and dodged
As we all had expected
And denied any part
In the lab that infected

Despite prior statements
And awareness of all
He answered most questions
with “I don’t recall”
1> He refused to admit
Censorship with big tech
But we all know what happened
Come on, what the heck?

Fauci sat there so smugly
A denial so haughty
An attempt to discredit
Plaintiffs A. Kheriaty

M. Kuldorff, J. Hines
Bhattacharya - Jay!
You think we believe
Tony Fauci? No way!

“Poisoning by illicit fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for adults aged 18 to 45 in the U.S.”

THIS is such an important piece from @latimes here. Please read it, share it, talk about it. 🧵👇
latimes.com/opinion/story/… “You can’t really call most of these deaths and near-deaths overdoses […] these are unwitting self-poisonings. The victims didn’t sign up for fetanyl.”

> We need to remove the stigma of drug ODs/fentanyl poisoning. It can happen to anyone, not just “addicts.” One pill can kill!

A year ago I was bracing for the launch of our county vax verification requirement. Such a terrible feeling…to know that in just a matter of days I’d be banned from public spaces, cast out, deemed unclean.

Why? To make safer spaces, they said. They were wrong.

My story 🧵> I have legitimate contraindications to vax - it’s frankly none of your business. But that shouldn’t even matter. NOBODY should be banned from society based on their own medical choices.

Yet my county intentionally pushed out a punitive policy knowing it would harm so many.

There are three colleges in the US currently mandating the bivalent booster for ALL students *without* requiring the same dose for older, higher risk staff members.
👇👇👇

Harvard University
Smith College
The College of Wooster

🧵 > What kind of twisted science justifies coercing young healthy students into getting a 4th shot (w/known risks for this age) without requiring the same of the older, anxious staff/admin they are supposedly protecting?

Explain yourselves 👉 @Harvard @smithcollege @WoosterEdu

Stepping up onto my fentanyl soap box for a moment, so please bear with me. It’s important.🧵

It’s that time of year when “the news” blasts scary warnings of kids finding packets of rainbow fentanyl in their trick-or-treat buckets. That obviously won’t happen. Nobody…

1> …is handing out fentanyl to kids at the front door. But this hysterical newsy hyperbole ends up minimizing the *very real* risks of fentanyl poisoning. Yes, even to kids. And even on Halloween.

On Division 🧵

In college we had an assignment to draw a political cartoon. Ugh, I dreaded this one so much. Not because I was afraid to speak my mind. I'm not. But because we were required to emphasize the bad in someone… >> …to be mean for the sake of some sort of biting humor. Not my thing. I suppose it at least turned out to be an interesting arrangement of dots, and a nostalgic nod to one of my favorite childhood toys.

Not a leader was sorry
None tried to amend

Four months of shame
Of senseless exclusion
In a fruitless attempt
A complete disillusion

Burn the ships.

A phrase born of the tale of Cortés in the year 1519. It’s a story of determination, bravery, and a little bit of mutiny.

And one that I’d like to reflect on at a time when we need to drastically reshape our covid policies.
🧵1> First, a little history.

In the year 1519, Cortés set anchor at the coast of Mexico, eager to explore. But plans abruptly changed as he was ordered to turn his ships around.

Defiant, he scuttled his ships to leave his anxious crew with no other option but to follow inland.

WA state is weighing whether to include covid vaccine as a requirement for school entry. As part of this process, a BOH Technical Advisory Group has been tasked with evaluating this vaccine against 9 criteria. Here I’ve highlighted each criteria, along with key observations. 🧵 CRITERIA 1: ACIP Recommendation

ACIP has recommended vaccinating school-aged children. However, it should be emphasized that during this discussion with ACIP the FDA specifically warned AGAINST MANDATING this vaccine in 5-11 year olds.

The landscape of covid transmission has drastically changed since King County began vaccine verification. I’ve highlighted specific elements of our public health order that are outdated, inaccurate, no longer relevant, or ineffective. 🧵1/10

@DocJeffD @kcexec @KCPubHealth King County’s vax verification program aims to “prevent the spread” of covid. Implementation began in Oct. at a rate of 125 cases/7 days/100k. Omicron peaked in mid Jan. as cases reached nearly 2000/7 days/100k. It’s abundantly clear that vax does not prevent transmission.🧵2/10
