Everyone should be aware that the current state of French #nuclear, currently under fire from critics due to the low availability of its reactor fleet (quickly forgetting more than 40 years of steady service) is the result of 25 years of relentless anti-nuclear effort.

It is hard to imagine when looking at France from outside, but its nuclear fleet is a survivor.
Antinuclear ideology has been undermining the 🇨🇵 nuclear sector and hindering the course of its operation since the 90s.

Lepage, Voynet, Cochet, Batho, Royal, Hulot, Pompili: antinuclear personalities, who also were environment, sometimes energy ministers, also representing France in Brussels 🇪🇺.

The choking strategy applied by the French antinuclears, with the implicit complicity of those who let them, is something that was built with time, and that will not be undone so easily... Examples:

- The closing of Superphénix RNR, preventing the closing of the nuclear fuel cycle
- The erection of more and more administrative barriers and constraints

- The arbitrary objective of reduction of the nuclear share in the electrical mix from 75% to 50%, plugging the industry perspectives
- The target of 24 reactors premature closing, later brought to 14

- The stop of GenIV research program
- The political closure of Fessenheim NPP (conclusion of a decade-old PS-Green agreement)
- The eternal procrastination of the launch of the nuclear fleet renewal.
